13w ago - Vogster Entertainment LLC Project Lead Artem Kuryavchenko announced that Carnivores HD tears into PS3 today!
To quote: Carnivores HD is a realistic hunting simulator that brings you to an ancient environment and lets you hunt for the most dangerous creatures that have ever existed.
You'll be hunting Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and finally a T-Rex! There are also flying Pteranodons, and small and peaceful Gallimimuses.
Each level is an island about two square miles in size, and features a unique environment. There are deserts and jungles, volcanic islands, and deep forests. Each level comes in three flavors: daytime, evening, and misty.
Being a hunting simulator, the game renders wildlife realistically. Animals make use of natural senses - sight, hearing smell - that are unique to each creature.
Dinosaur behavior depends on the environment, weather, and injury state, so a wounded dinosaur will respond fearfully to your presence. Animals also interact with each other: herbivores avoid carnivores, small species avoid big ones. Dinosaurs also forage for food, water, take rests, and wander around the world.
Your arsenal consists of a rifle, sniper rifle and crossbow. You don't have to kill an animal, either, and you can equip...
31w ago - Sony European Brand Manager Penrose Tackie posted up a video today in honor of celebrating 15 years Of Gran Turismo on Sony video gaming platforms.
To quote: A little over 15 years ago, what was then a small Japanese studio (headed up by Kazunori Yamauchi) embarked upon on a journey that would enrich the lives of many millions of gamers. The journey that the team undertook set new benchmarks in graphics, game physics and sheer entertainment factor.
That studio eventually became known as Polyphony Digital, and the brand they created was - of course - Gran Turismo.
15 years after that seminal moment, and after who knows how many billions of miles driven collectively by Gran Turismo gamers all over the world, I am very pleased to announce a special Gran Turismo 15th Anniversary Event taking place May 15th at Silverstone Race Circuit, England.
The event will be a celebration of all that Gran Turismo has come to represent to a community of millions all over the world, and will involve many of the car manufacturers who have been part of that incredible 15 year journey.
At the event, Kazunori Yamauchi will also be making some exciting announcements about the future of the brand. Activities will be covered live right here, at Gran-Turismo.com,...
56w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton is here with details on Epic Mickey 2: Behind the Mouse Ears with Warren Spector.
To quote: As gaming resumes go, few can compare to that of Warren Spector. After starting his career on the fabled Wing Commander series back in 1990, he went on to work on massive franchises such as Ultima and System Shock, before re-inventing the stealth genre with Deus Ex and Thief. In short, he's a true giant of game development.
And this week sees him return to the fray, with Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two - an ambitious sequel to his epic 2010 platforming adventure, packing in full co-op play and PlayStation Move support.
The Junction Point founder was kind enough to lend PlayStation.Blog a few minutes of his valuable time to discuss the game - read on to find out what he had to say.
PlayStation.Blog: There are a lot of PlayStation gamers out there who might not be too familiar with the first game. What did they miss?
Warren Spector: What did they miss? Only the greatest game experience of all time! No, okay, seriously... what they missed was the reintroduction of Mickey Mouse as a game hero the equal of Mario, Sonic, Link or any other platforming or adventure star.
68w ago - Insomniac Games Chief Operating Officer John Fiorito has unveiled some rare concept art today spanning over the last 10 years from Ratchet & Clank for die-hard fans.
To quote: The Ratchet & Clank franchise turns 10 this year, and to celebrate their anniversary we will release the Ratchet & Clank Collection on PS3.
Ever since the first Ratchet & Clank game launched, fans have written us wanting to see concept art. While concepts are just one of many pieces we use to put our games together, they are a fun way to show the history of the Ratchet & Clank universe.
So I searched around the studio and pulled together a collection of images that go all the way back to 2002 when Insomniac started working on a new game...
In The Beginning... well actually it was 2000. We were wrapping up Spyro: Year of the Dragon and looking ahead to the PlayStation 2. After spending a year developing a new game code-named "I5" and later known as "Girl with a Stick," we canceled the project and decided to shift gears.
(To find out more about Girl with a Stick and its ultimate demise, check out the Full Moon Show podcast #49). That left us with only a few months to present a new idea and we started working on...
