Evolution Studios Details the DriveClub PS4 Free DLC Schedule

100°
1w ago - Evolution Studios Community Development Manager Jamie Brayshaw shared details on the DriveClub free DLC schedule for PlayStation 4 today.

To quote: Our players are the heart and soul of [Register or Login to view links], and when the game begins October 7th, Evolution Studios will be going all out to keep the experience fresh and exciting for all of you.

We're determined to build up a lively community of millions of connected racers around you, so our post-launch development will be influenced by what you do in the game and the feedback you share with us.

New content, improvements, and updates will all be shaped by you and everyone you play with. And of course, we're going to do our best to keep surprising you with our own creativity, too!

In fact, thanks to all of the players we've met and talked to already, our mission has already started.

We're already working hard to develop free updates that will introduce a powerful weather system (that you can play around with to change the dynamics of every race) and a photo mode, because they've both been requested ever since...

New Mercedes-AMG GT Launches Exclusively in DriveClub on PS4

50°
1w ago - Today Volker Zaiss from Mercedes-Benz announced that a new Mercedes-AMG GT launches exclusively in DriveClub on PS4 with details below.

To quote: Hi, my name is Volker Zaiss and I work at Mercedes-Benz. What brings me here is the brand new Mercedes-AMG GT sports car, which I am proud to announce as the latest addition to the [Register or Login to view links] roster.

Even though the car will be released on the market in 2015, it's going to be available exclusively in DRIVECLUB as free DLC right after the game's launch. This is thanks to a close collaboration with the guys at Evolution Studios, who have been able to replicate the car in astonishing detail.

Well, despite not being as much of a gearhead as the engineers at AMG, who are responsible for the driving performance of the Mercedes-AMG GT, I also get a thrill from putting the pedal to the metal. When you hear the roaring engine sound and feel the power that thrusts you forward, it's truly addictive.

And DRIVECLUB does an excellent job of giving you that same extraordinary feeling. Experiencing the car while racing through beautifully rendered landscapes with the sunlight reflecting from the bonnet, and sharing in the excitement of racing...

50°
5w ago - Evolution Studios Community Development Manager Jamie Brayshaw posted up a new DriveClub PS4 video today at Gamescom 2014 that showcases online challenges below.

To quote: It's Gamescom 2014, which means we're sharing a new DRIVECLUB trailer with you all! This time, we're showing you how challenges bring the world of DRIVECLUB together to prove who's got the skills to earn fame for their club.

DRIVECLUB is all about enjoying the thrill of the fastest and most exciting cars on the planet, sharing the fun of driving them in stunning events and challenges that you set-up with friends.

It's not just about crossing the finish line first - although that will net big rewards for you and your club - there's a lot more to play for in every race. Earn big points for driving with flair or expert precision. Earn accolades for each of your cars and club.

Try and beat face-offs for drifting, speeding and nailing the racing line. Everything you do earns you fame, which helps you unlock new cars and liveries for you and your club.

When you do cross the finish line, you can start something new with your friends by creating a challenge. Who you include is up to you, but it pays to get as many drivers and clubs involved as possible, because the rewards become bigger when more...

First Look: Driveclub's Dynamic Weather in Action on PlayStation 4

50°
10w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared a first look today at Driveclub's dynamic weather in action on PlayStation 4 alongside an interview below.

To quote: Evolution Studios took the wraps off Driveclub's dynamic weather system at E3 in Los Angeles last month and we were there to see it demoed live.

Today we've got some new direct feed gameplay clips of the dynamic weather in action and an interview from the game's Art Director Alex Perkins. This is all from an early demo of the game's realistic - and fully customizable - weather system that will be included in Driveclub as a free update for all players just shortly after launch.

We're really excited to give you an early look at how wind, rain, snow and everything in between can affect your races and how you can customize it in your challenges. Take a look at the new videos, then keep reading to catch up with what we've learned from our interview with Alex.

How have you approached weather in Driveclub?

Alex Perkins: We've approached our weather system with the same guiding principles as we've done with everything in Driveclub: to make it as immersive and fun as possible. We've developed a powerful engine that has the capability to model the entire environment in stunning detail; from each cloud that...

Sony Shares 51 Details About DriveClub PS4 on PlayStation 4

50°
15w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared 51 details about DriveClub PS4 on PlayStation 4 below today!

To quote: As you might have noticed in recent trailers, Evolution Studios' forthcoming PS4 racer Driveclub really is a looker.

But until you see it up close it's hard to appreciate just how much effort the team has gone to ensure it really pushes at the boundaries of gamers' expectations.

During a recent studio visit I was treated to anecdote after eyebrow-raising anecdote, from key team members about just how detailed this game is. Duly, to shine a light on the extraordinary work that's currently underway up in Runcorn, Cheshire, I collated as many as I could note down into the list below.

Take a look and keep in mind this is only scratching the surface - Evolution still has months of development left and are adding new elements every day.

Weather

1. NASA data was used to accurately map out the night sky - so wherever you are in the world you'll see the correct star constellations for your location.

2. If you're lucky, you'll get to see the northern lights - it's possible to see the aurora borealis from the northern tracks in Norway, Scotland, and Canada.

3. All clouds are full 3D models to ensure accurate light diffusion...
