But first: what is an EX Burst? EX Burst is equivalent of a super move in a game like Street Fighter. Each character has a special move which you'll recognize from their original game. During the EX burst, you'll have to input several button cues but each is customized for each unique character.

For example, Tifa's EX Burst features the same slot reels for her Limit Break in Final Fantasy VII. For Tidus, you'd have to align the cursor in the target zone like his Overdrive attack in Final Fantasy X.





For Squall, you'll have to pull the trigger just like in Final Fantasy XIII. The more successful you are with the button cues, the more devastating the attack.





The EX system is actually more than a special move because, during battle, you'll have to fill up a meter called the EX gauge. Once...

115w ago - Today Square Enix's Head of Public Relations Sonia Im has confirmed that Dissidia Duodecim Prologus Final Fantasy for PSP is hitting PSN on March 15 with lightning and Aerith Unlock.

To quote: Prologus will be available March 15th exclusively via the PlayStation Network for $2.99. The details will be posted on the official site later today.

In the meanwhile, here's a quick summary of why prologus is going to be so awesome straight from the press release:

• Witness Lightning before the storm: Lightning, the protagonist of the popular FINAL FANTASY XIII, will be introduced to the DISSIDIA series for the first time. 137w ago - Square Enix Brand Manager Rob Rutter has shared a video today spotlighting a first look at the Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy PSP trailer.

To quote: I'm really excited to give you a first look at the new trailer for DISSIDIA 012 Duodecim FINAL FANTASY for PSP, our upcoming sequel to the best-selling DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY.

If you've not played DISSIDIA before, here's what to expect: a mix of great Beat 'Em Up action and RPG gameplay depth, starring the most memorable heroes and villains from the FINAL FANTASY series.

You'll see some familiar faces from the original game in the video, as well as some new and exciting characters such as Lightning (FINAL FANTASY XIII) and Kain (FINAL FANTASY IV).





You'll also see some footage of the new Assist mode, in which you can choose your favourite FINAL FANTASY character to back you up in battle.

204w ago - Square Enix has struck a deal with two of the largest game-selling retailers in the US to give away some exclusive Dissidia goodies to those who preorder the game.

Fans will only be able to get one unless they buy from both places - so they'll have to choose.

To quote: GameStop will get an exclusive slip-cover for Dissidia to give away. People who preorder and buy theg ame from their local Gamestop store will get not one but two special edition cases - Black for Chaos, and White for Cosmos.

Meanwhile, online retailer Amazon will get an exclusive limited edition soundtrack sampler CD featuring 10 tracks from the FF: Dissidia Soundtrack Album.

Both are pretty cool, though honestly we'd go for the cases - true fans are going to pick up the full-length OST anyway.
