Eight Days is cancelled. We know that. However, before it's cancellation, we've barley seen any footage on the game, leaving a lot of us wondering what it would have been like.
Jim Jagger, 3D animator for the game, has released a demo reel containing footage of Eight Days, and boy did it look good.
There's some footage of EyePet and Looney Toons in there, but most of it consists of Eight Days gameplay footage.
The cover manuvers looked fantastic and I could not see exactly why SCEE would stop production on this. Even if it lacked multiplayer, they could of just, you know, added it. So take a look see for yourself, what Eight Days could have been.
It seems no matter which Web site you go to, they all shower praise on the latest game by Valve entitled Left 4 Dead. As a zombie—and video game enthusiast—I assumed this would become one of my favorite games. It sounded like a match made in heaven.
Unfortunately, I came away from the demo very underwhelmed. Sub par graphics and average gun play killed my enthusiasm pretty quickly. I did find the gun play enjoyable in Left 4 Dead, but I really wasn't overwhelmed by how good each gun felt. They felt appropriate.
The guns sounded average. Nothing praise worthy, but nothing to whine about, either. I don't want to offend anyone, but if you're going to tell me that this game has amazing texturing, lighting effects, environments, character models, and animations then you are probably one of those people that think Turok is a great looking game.
The environments themselves looked appropriately drab but they weren't very inspired or pleasing to the... More »

Today Ro Hernandez of the PlayStation Store Team has expanded on what was reported a few weeks ago in our past news.
To quote: Hope you’ve been enjoying the beefy updates over the past couple weeks. If you have been a frequent visitor to PlayStation Store, you would have noticed the custom categories we created for Halloween and for the Siren: Blood Curse promotion.
This Thursday, we are releasing a custom category for Capcom. As you may know, Capcom has been a huge supporter of PlayStation Network, so we collaborated on a special storefront to coincide with the release of Age of Booty.
Within this “Capcom Store”, you’ll be able to browse through all Capcom digital content available from PlayStation Network. Once inside the Capcom category, you will notice that all their content is sorted by title. This allows you easy access to v... More »
According to Big_T of NeoGAF Forums (linked above) he has gotten his hands on the hotly anticipated new IP from EA and has posted some pics.
To quote: "Just got the game, I don't care about the length of the game. I played the demo 4 hours :)
btw the installation for the game is 486MB.. when you start new game you choose between easy and normal difficulty, if you complete the story you will unlock the hard difficulty, in hard there is no Runner Vision and combat much tougher."
As mentioned yesterday, Mirror's Edge is set to officially arrive for PlayStation 3 on November 11 and XBox 360 on November 14, 2008 so it appears some retailers are selling it a day early.
One pic of the pack and PS3 disc is below, with the rest at the above link. Enjoy!
In just a few days Mirror's Edge will arrive for PS3 (Nov 11) and XBox 360 (Nov 14), which contains many other game tunes as part of the soundtrack.. and EA has made available five of these from the entire soundtrack for download.
You can grab these five tracks for free by downloading them HERE. (29.4MB)
Based on reviews from the demo, it appears many gamers are quite excited about Mirror's Edge thus far. We can not wait until the retail version arrives!
After hearing that the Call of Duty: World at War demo- I mean BETA, was available for any Xbox Gold subscriber, I decided to download it.
After playing for about two hours, I've come to one conclusion, and one of my good friends put it best: "World at War is totally a World War II mod for CoD4," and she's entirely right.
That's not to say that being exactly the same is a bad thing, far from it. Call of Duty 4 was an incredible game, with a large online community, and I fully expect World at War to follow closely in its footsteps. Of course, the only experience I have with the game is the multiplayer, which is pretty easy to duplicate.
The real question is going to be if Treyarch can manage to actually make the campaign interesting; everybody's getting tired of World War II. Regardless of how the actual campaign plays out, I know that tons of people are going to migrate over from CoD4 for no reason other than they're starting to get tired of the... More »
