JFW DH PS3 CFW Delay, Custom Firmware to Support 3.7+ Games

1500°
149w ago - Today Spanish PlayStation 3 developer DemonHades has announced that the upcoming JFW DH PS3 CFW has been delayed, however, the Custom Firmware is now said to support 3.7+ games!

To quote, roughly translated: Well as the title says demons, DH JFW will suffer a delay in its launch date for several reasons, including that one of the devs in charge of openpstore this very busy with college, the other manager's manager suffered plugins a sporting accident and has his hand in plaster (blipi) so it works much more slowly.

Without the plugin manager can not control Thegra plugins, and without the openpstore can not be connected to the platform JFW updates for the DH.

It was all planned by the date specified on October 1, but with these problems we can not give an exact date (just a week, 15 days) do not know, what if I assure you is that the wait will be worth, and that once this JFW published an exploit that part (not out) you can play all future games (no matter the 37x version, etc), we will not say the method ... (this has been always the error publish the methods) but just the theme keys (do not make us as needed).

1saludo and to let you know I'm very bad demons, I think...

Heavy Rain PS3 Special Edition, DLC and Euro Soundtrack Delay

300°
231w ago - European Product Manager Alex Pavey has unveiled a Heavy Rain PS3 Special Edition today, alongside DLC news and also confirmation that (due to a technical issue) the European soundtrack will be delayed.

To quote: Launch week is here, and some of you will already have your hands on the fantastic Heavy Rain!

I know that many of you have ordered the Special Edition, which contains a voucher code to download three pieces of additional content: Chronicles episode 1, the additional playable scene; a Dynamic XMB Theme; and the Official Heavy Rain Soundtrack.

I'm sorry to say that there has been a last-minute technical delay with the Official Soundtrack, meaning that if you redeem your voucher code before 4th March, you will be able to download Chronicle 1 and the Dynamic Theme, but not the Official Soundtrack.

If you redeem your Special Edition voucher after 4th March, you will receive all three pieces of content as normal - and if you can stand to wait a week to start downloading additional content, that will be the easiest approach.

If you have already redeemed your voucher code and have not received the Official Soundtrack, please contact your local customer service teams who will be able to help you. Apologies for the inconvenience, everyone.

Video: Heavy Rain PS3 Gameplay Coming Home, Delay Confirmed

400°
256w ago - Today Quantic Dream co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere confirmed to CVG (linked above) that Heavy Rain will be delayed in its release until early next year, as the developers feel that the title needs to have its own release window away from the busy Christmas period.

To quote: "A game like Heavy Rain needs space, needs to be explained and shown. At the end of the year, people can't afford to buy all those games so we wanted to give Heavy Rain the chance to have its own release window, and for us to really talk about it so people really understand it.

Fondaumiere believes that HR will be a test bed for how ready the industry is for this sort of innovation."

In related news, IGN has made available a Heavy Rain PS3 Gameplay 'Coming Home' video today... check it out below!

Radical: Original Prototype Too Huge, Delay Helped Realize Vision

100°
275w ago - The bad: Radical's open-world, anti-superhero blockbuster Prototype has been heavily delayed. The good: it's now been polished to buggery and pulled back to a more manageable "vision".

To quote: "The extra dev time from last year really was a chance for us to polish, tweak and refine the missions and gameplay mechanics," executive producer Tim Bennison told VG247.

"The original vision for the game was huge, perhaps a little too huge, so the extra time in development has let us realize that vision."

The game was originally to release in autumn last year, but was pushed into 2009 last May. It was one of the Vivendi survivors of the Actvision Blizzard merger.

"We're really excited to launch Prototype in June - it's certainly been a big project for the entire company here at Radical," Bennison added.
