189w ago - Lead Designer Greg Rizzer has posted up some videos today of Dante's Inferno: Trials of St. Lucia PS3 DLC which will be hitting the PSN Store soon.
To quote: I'm really excited to launch this expansion pack for fans of Dante's Inferno.
The Trials of St. Lucia is a unique DLC package. First off, we are introducing an entirely new playable character: St. Lucia.
She has her own set of moves and features much more aerial style combat that Dante. Our character team did an amazing job with her. She looks amazing and adds new depth – also, I think her wings look amazing!
Second, we have added online cooperative play. The ability to be able to go online and fight hordes of creatures with a friend is really fun. I think the co-op feature is something that fans of this game genre will appreciate.
Also, with this new DLC, we're shipping an entire Trial creation editor! This is a cool and easy-to-use tool that will let you create your own Trials, play them, and even upload them to the community so other people can rate them and attempt to beat your master creation.
That's a lot of content for $10! But that's not all: In addition to those big features, we are also shipping 40 Trials that were created...
205w ago - PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi is back in the new year with Qore Episode 20, which features Dante's Inferno, Heavy Rain, Bayonetta and BioShock 2 for Sony's PS3.
To quote: January's Episode 20 is on the way, featuring eternal damnation, ceaseless precipitation, stylish decapitation and undersea exploration.
Hell is the last place you want to be–unless you're impatient for the mythical adventure of redemption found in Dante's Inferno. Veronica Belmont circles around EA to experience how the developer plans to bring the epic 14th century poem to life.
There's also an interactive quiz built into this episode that will determine your degree of sinfulness.
We've been keeping an eye on Heavy Rain since the Qore team's first visit back in 2008. And, as promised, Quantic Dream has crafted a film-noir world that is both graphically impressive and psychologically disturbing.
As you play the part of four different characters whose lives intertwine on the trail of a serial killer, your every decision has an effect on the story around you. This extensive preview also includes an interactive cinema demonstration of the consequences of a few of...
228w ago - Today GameVideos has made available a new Dante's Inferno King Minos gameplay video from Comic-Con 2009.
Dante's Inferno will be heading to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and XBox 360 on January 30, 2010 and is based on the first part of Dante's Divine Comedy.
The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Crusades, who chases his beloved Beatrice and free her soul from Lucifer. As his pursuit takes him through the 9 Circles of the Inferno to Beatrice, he will battle monsters and face his sins, his family past and his war crimes.
From the video's caption: Dante battles the judge of the dead in Dante's Inferno.
229w ago - Sorry PC gamers. Dante's keeping his Inferno to himself. Speaking with Big Download, an EA PR rep shot down any hopes of a PC version of the hotly anticipated game.
To quote: "When Dante's Inferno was originally announced in December, we attached no platforms to the project. When we came out with a first look for press in February we announced 360/PS3 and then in April we announced PSP.
We never announced a PC SKU nor are there plans for any," the rep said.
Oh well. Maybe PC gamers will have better luck the next time a major publisher decides to turn a contemplative literary masterpiece into a decidedly violent hack 'n' slash.
231w ago - By way of EA/Visceral Games comes Dante's Inferno. Taking a page right out of God of War, it features a hero named Dante of course, who wields a multifunctional sickle-like weapon as his main instrument of death.
Unlike Kratos, who goes about his business at a merciless pace Dante appears to be more noble as he battles the nine circles of the underworld; Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery.
As Dante's Inferno is slated for a December 2010 release, gamers will certainly have gotten their feel of Kratos' next adventure and once again the bar will have been set even higher. An exclusive Dante's Inferno gameplay video is below.
Dante's Inferno is looking to take the adventures of Kratos to the next level and hopefully high enough to force Kratos out of retirement. It will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, and PlayStation Portable.
