According to Spanish police, the site caused the entertainment industries 535,000 euros in losses and made 30,000 euros in profits. Unfortunately the authorities didn’t have the benefit of foresight, which would’ve given them an understanding of how Spanish l... More »

The Golden age of video games saw its height in the 16 bit era where SNES and The Genesis were in a console war over who had the best games. SNES came out on top which we discuss in numerous articles on Old-Wizard, and stood as the most creative moment in the video game mediums small history. Where has the Golden age gone?

It has gone to games that lack everything great about those old NES and SNES games. In this list, we will go through the reasons why the games of the modern era lack the power of the older generation. We could only hope that modern game makers realize the creative insurgence of the 16 bit era and try to recapture it for the next generation.

10. No good instruction manuals

This may seem like a petty reason not to like modern games, but it meant a lot to us retro video gamers who wanted to experience the game beyond the screen. New instruction manuals to modern games offer no story lines like the old games that made us pre... More »

Sad story. In 2007, Russell Bramlage killed his parents, Dr. Terry Bramlage and Lynda Bramlage, after they confronted him when he stole two cheques from them.

Shot them both in the back, with a shotgun, in cold blood. Three days after the murders, seemingly without a care in the world, he cashed one of the cheques in and bought... an original Xbox.

Bramlage was later arrested by police, and pleaded guilty to murder charges, for which he'll face up to 20 years in prison without parole.

EA has released the first proper details on Need for Speed: Undercover, which'll no doubt sit somewhere near the top of this Christmas's sales chart.

After the disappointing Pro Street, Undercover takes the NFS series "back to its roots" says EA, with high-speed pursuits with rivals while dodging the old blues 'n twos to take down an International crime syndicate. All whilst undercover, obviously.

There's 80 miles of road to explore in the open-world Tri-City Bay area, says EA, and a totally new AI mechanic which delivers "aggressive and intelligent cops whose sole purpose is to take down the player quickly and by any means necessary."

The new game also introduces an all-new 'Heroic Driving Engine', a unique technology that generates "incredible high-performance moves at 180 miles per hour". We've no idea what this means.

Of course you can also expect tons of car customization, vehicle damage and licensed motors such as the Audi R8, B... More »
