Per Seth Luisi, a new SOCOM: Confrontation v1.20 patch update will be available tomorrow which promises to fix crashing of the game as well as many other reported issues.
To quote: We are happy to announce that the SOCOM: Confrontation 1.20 Update will be released on Wednesday, October 29th, at 1200 GMT/UTC (8am EDT, 5am PDT, 1pm BST, 9pm JST).
The SOCOM: Confrontation 1.20 update addresses the following issues:
• Fixed many issues which would cause the game to crash, hang, disconnect and exit to the PS3 XMB.
• Fixed an issue which would cause large numbers of players in a high player count game to be simultaneously disconnected.
• Fixed an issue which would cause players to be invincible.
• Fixed a physics issue which would cause players to occasionally "warp" around on the map.
• Fixed an issue where a "corrupt save data" message would be incorrectly displayed after updating the game.

Twenty days ago, Sony released the LittleBigPlanet BETA version to those lucky enough to have the right code. The Internet went nuts over these keys, crashing a few big sites that offered access to the BETA.
As soon as the first batch of keys was sent, gamers got into create mode and built some amazing levels and objects. Playing, creating and sharing became a daily ritual for many LBP fans around the world.
Now the BETA is closed. It won’t work anymore and you’ll have to delete it soon. The problem is you can’t replace it with the full game yet.
The launch date is still 10 days away, 10 long and boring days without LittleBigPlanet to put a smile on our faces.
Just over two weeks ago there were reports of WipEout HD crashing/freezing and some partially-working DIY-style fixes.
The good news is, WipEout HD has now been patched in order to fix the common game freezing problem among PSN users with over 50 friends.
Currently this patch is available for the European version only, though it is expected to go live in America very soon. The patch notes, which can be retrieved from within the game, state that your save file needs to be deleted after the patch has been installed for the fix to take affect.
This means your lap times, team loyalties and other single-player stats and options will be lost. Your trophies and leaderboard scores, however, won't be lost.
If you've been sidestepping the issue by playing whilst signed out of the PSN, starting again is no doubt quite an annoyance. Don't... More »
Per Nigel Kershaw (Game Director, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift) today via PS Blog:
Today the staff at Evo are doing a little dance and breathing a huge sigh of relief. For today is the day of our fist gold master candidate, which as I write this is winging its way to assorted testers around the world ready for them to give MotorStorm: Pacific Rift one last hammering. This isn’t the end, chances are there still a few bugs to be fixed, but we’ve finished dessert, and are now just waiting for coffee and the bill. Phew.
But rather than browsing through vacation brochures, I thought this impasse would be best spent writing a few blog posts which answer some of the questions that have been floating around the internet about Pacific Rift. The first one of which I noticed is how many people I’ve seen decrying the fact the lovely little pause camera from the first game isn’t present in the recent demo.
Several have reported on the official UK PlayStation forum (linked above) that they are experiencing random crashes and freezing issues with the recently released WipEout HD.
Based on user feedback thus far, the bug appears to be affecting only those with too many people (50+) on their PSN friends list. SCEE Community Team Leader MusterBuster stated that Sony is looking into the issue, however, some are reporting possible "fixes" until an official update or patch is made available.
To quote lowrider007: Well, for me anyway, I can now play signed into PSN and no freezes, I updated my firmware to 2.43 and it seems to be fine now, I've had it on for about 3 hours now and it's the first time it hasn't locked up at all, strange that should fix my issue, perhaps their was a glitch in my last FW update for something.
To quote D-E-V-I-L-08: Listen carfully...

Are Internet Explorer and Firefox ready to do battle with Chrome?
Google announced Monday that it has been hard at work on an open-source browser known as Chrome, a beta version of which will be released in 100 countries on Tuesday.
New features will included "isolated" tabs designed to prevent browser crashes and a more powerful JavaScript engine.
"Why are we launching Google Chrome? Because we believe we can add value for users and, at the same time, help drive innovation on the web," Sundar Pichai, vice president of product management, and Linus Upson, Google engineering director, wrote in a blog post.
Google was apparently looking to keep news of Chrome under wraps until after the holiday weekend. A 38-page, online comic book that provided details about Chrome hit the blog... More »
