77w ago - Square Enix Marketing Manager Jem Alexander has unveiled the upcoming Ezio Costume coming to Final Fantasy XIII-2 on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system today.

To quote: We're excited to announce a partnership with Ubisoft which is allowing us to offer a special costume for FINAL FANTASY XIII-2′s male protagonist, Noel, as downloadable content.

He will be able to dress up as the master assassin from the latest Assassin's Creed game, Assassin's Creed: Revelations. As you can see above, Ezio Auditore's costume has been lovingly recreated for Noel.

Tim Schafer's Double Fine Productions is plugging that void with Costume Quest, the developer's first Playstation Network title.

I recently caught up with Tim and lead artist Tasha Harris, as you can see by clicking play in the magic box below.





In Costume Quest, you control one of two siblings on Halloween night. Just before you set off trick or treating your brother or sister (depending on who you choose to play as) is kidnapped and you set off into the neighborhood to rescue them and escape a severe grounding.

On the surface, it's an action adventure with heaps of side missions for those who explore, but it also plays with other genres in surprising ways. As you can imagine, costumes are a key part of the game and collecting new ones gives you new powers, not...

If you haven't already heard about it, I'll give you a quick summary: Costume Quest is a Halloween-themed RPG in which you trick-or-treat through neighborhoods as a group of monster-fighting kids who can transform into super-awesome versions of their costumes.

If you've seen any of the latest online previews in the past few days and, you probably already have a basic idea about Costume Quest's gameplay. Today I'm going to tell you a little more about some of the inspirations behind the game.





Homemade costumes

One of the main influences of Costume Quest was my own love for Halloween growing up, and the fantastic costumes that my mom would make for my younger sister and I - magicians and devils for me, princesses and brides for my sister. A couple of the real-life costumes that ended up making...
