Today Sony Executive Vice President Kazuo Hirai announced that an 'iTunes' style online entertainment service will be coming in early 2010.
Sony plans to launch the new online service to distribute movies, music, books and other content to the PS3, network-capable Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players, ebooks and others in a bid to add value to its hardware.
Now with the PS3 Firmware 3.10 update you can send an error report to Sony.
I encountered this personally just yesterday when I was playing Modern Warfare 2 and think its a good feature for future PS3 Firmware updates to reduce issues.
To quote: "Thanks to firmware 3.10, Sony now allows users to send an error report after an improper shutdown.
Update: VG247.com has confirmed that Kaz Hirai stated the current PSN service will remain free, and subscriptions are only for “premium content and services.”
Sony has revealed during their Media/Investor Conference that the PlayStation Network will be getting a new paid subscription service in 2010 alongside non-game content likely to include applications and videos.

According to 1Up.com, Sony will be releasing the 3.10 update today.
