76w ago - Following up on the previous report by Eurogamer, today Sony Computer Entertainment Senior VP Yoshio Matsumoto and Division 2 Software Development Head Muneki Shimada denied the report meaning there isn't a universal solution planned for making all PS3 games playable remotely on PS Vita.

To quote via Andriasang.com (linked above): "Freelance journalist Munechika Nishida conducted an interview with Sony's PlayStation Vita development staff for the latest installment of his "Random Tracking" series at Impress Watch.

He asked Sony Computer Entertainment Senior VP Yoshio Matsumoto and Division 2 Software Development Head Muneki Shimada about the reports.

"That information is mistaken," said Matsumoto. "The compatibility is achieved on the side of the PS3 game, just like normal."

Shimada agreed, saying that as with previous implementations of Remote Play, games will need API support."

SACD includes various copy protection measures of which the most prominent is Pit Signal Processing (PSP). The first two generations of Sony's Playstation 3 (PS3) game console are capable of reading SACD ScarletBook and bypass the copy protection.

This software makes use of the PS3 and gives you the option to backup your precious SACDs.

For those unaware, Super Audio CD (SACD) is a high-resolution, read-only optical disc for audio storage. Sony and Philips Electronics jointly developed the technology, and publicized it in 1999. It is designated as the Scarlet Book standard. Sony and Philips previously collaborated to define the Compact Disc standard (as well as the S/PDIF digital audio cable specification)....

SynaPS3 is a simple library for people using the Sony PS3 Cell SDK, primarily made for making applications universally compatible with payloads, to help extend and improve existing functions for homebrew, and to add new functions.

Documentation for SynaPS3 is on github. Some of the most notable features of SynaPS3 included syscall36 compatibility on ALL PL3 payloads, and syscall35 compatibility on Hermes v3 and Hermes v4 payloads. To integrate these compatibility fixes it's as simple as opening the source of an existing program, removing the syscall35/syscall36 functions, and including SynaPS3!

SynaPS3 also has functions to help save you time while coding, such as ReadFirmwareVersion, IsBlurayGame, Firmware342Fix, and more.

SynaPS3 is nowhere near where we want it to be yet. This is only the beginning. SynaPS3 aims to become a full library, with PS3 dialogs and full PNG output.
