Mossmouth Announces Spelunky is Coming to PlayStation 4 Tuesday

50°
17h ago - Mossmouth's Derek Yu announced today that Spelunky is coming to PlayStation 4 this Tuesday with details below.

To quote: Thanks to the hard work of BlitWorks and Sony, Spelunky is coming to PS4 on October 7th! I've updated most of the textures so that the game looks nice and crisp in 1080p, and you can now upload replays of your high scores to the leaderboards.

Also, there's a new feature for the Daily Challenge: friend ghosts! Wanna know how your friends perished in the Daily? Their ghosts will appear where they died, offering some creepy clues about what dangers are lurking about.

Hopefully this will be a fun way to increase the cooperative/competitive nature of the Daily Challenge. Blit also added a number of smaller features that take advantage of the PS4′s unique controller, like making the light bar color represent your player, and allowing players to use the touch pad to flip pages in the journal.

Finally, Spelunky composer Eirik Suhrke is also working on a free EP of remixed music from Spelunky that will include new songs from Eirik as well as distinguished friends like Manami Matsumae (of Mega Man/Capcom fame!).

This EP will be released on Eirik's [Register or Login to view links] alongside the debut of the game on PS4, and...

LOOT Entertainment: Fluster Cluck Coming to PS4 on October 21st

50°
17h ago - LOOT Entertainment Product Manager Jason Sorensen announced today that Fluster Cluck is coming to PS4 on October 21st, 2014.

Below are the details, to quote: Made ya look. Remember when we were kids, and multiplayer gaming meant physically going to your friend's house and kicking butt while mom made nachos?

Yeah. That's Fluster Cluck. It cuts through the blahblah and gets straight to the nachos.

Fluster Cluck is a cartoony, pick-up-and-play twin-stick shooter with resource gathering elements. It has no blood, no gore, no grizzled mercenaries, no princesses who need to be saved, no softcore anime cutscenes, no dialogue trees, and no moral dilemmas. It just has chikkin. Lots and lots of chikkin.

At LOOT, we're bringing you a PS4 game that gets back to basics:

• Grab some friends
• Turn on the PS4
• Start the FLUSTER CLUCK
• Pwnage

Fluster Cluck's premise is very straightforward: the universe is driven by applied chikkin technologies, pioneered by the Chikkin Koop corporation. And, predictably, the galaxy's appetite for chikkin product creates ever greater strain on chikkin resources.

To avert wars, resource protests, rolling brownouts, melting glaciers and bad reruns on TV, Chikkin Koop has deployed the ultimate resource...

Video: Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype is Coming to PS Vita This Winter

50°
17h ago - SideQuest Studios CEO Marcus Pukropski shared a PlayStation Vita trailer video below today announcing that Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype is coming to PS Vita this Winter.

To quote: Hi everyone! I'm excited to let you know that we are bringing our shoot 'em up Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype to PS Vita this winter.

The original PS3 version was a big hit with fans and we received a lot of requests for a PS Vita port.

Like all of our games, Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype runs on a custom-built engine giving us excellent control over the PS Vita hardware. As a result, we are aiming for a console perfect port, running at 60 frames per second with little to no load times.

To make high score and Trophy hunting more exciting, the PS Vita version features separate high score tables and a new Trophy set.

All the cool features of the original game are still there, including up to 10 exciting stages, a dynamic score-linked difficulty system, three different player ships with more than 10 unique weapons, and special limit attacks, challenge mode, online high score ranking & replay playback and lots more.

Soldner-X 2 also supports cross buy. That means if you already own the game on PS3, you...

Kitfox Games Reveals Moon Hunters Coming to PS4, PS Vita in 2015

50°
1w ago - Kitfox Games Creative Director Tanya Short revealed today that Moon Hunters is coming to PS4 and PS Vita in 2015.

Below are the details, to quote: Hi! I'm Tanya, the lead designer of Moon Hunters. Moon Hunters is coming to PS4 and PS Vita in late 2015, all thanks to our amazing community supporting on [Register or Login to view links].

The campaign has been going even better than we hoped, and if you're one of our backers, I really hope I can find you and give you a backer hug as soon as possible.

If you haven't heard of Moon Hunters, it's a 1-to-4-player, mythology-building action RPG. Set in a fantastical ancient Mesopotamia, you play as one of the heroes trying to figure out what's happened to the all-powerful Moon, which has gone missing.

Along the way, you journey through a world that's different every time, and make decisions that show your personality. Your personality traits determine your reputation, but also how you're remembered in legend after you're gone.

If you're truly memorable, you might even become a symbol of heroism as a constellation in the night sky, visible in all future playthroughs.

It's a relatively short game for just one play-through, just one to three...

Video: OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood Coming to PS4, PS Vita in 2015

100°
1w ago - Roll7 General Dogsbody Simon Bennett posted up a video today announcing that OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood is coming to PS4 and PS Vita in 2015.

To quote: So, its finally here - the moment that we can announce that since February this year, the skate crew here at Roll7 have been working night and day on what we think is the most epic skate game ever!

OlliOll2: Welcome to Olliwood will hit PS4 and PS Vita in 2015!

A sequel, you say? Why, [Register or Login to view links] has only just come out! Well, actually we finished on the core of OlliOlli in late September 2013 - which seems like a LONG time ago now...

We were exhausted and somewhat broken - but we had learned a whole load about both OlliOlli AND PlayStation development as a whole.

At the end of the project, John (our creative Director) excitedly sat us down with a vision for a sequel, something that had been lighting up in his brain ever since we locked features for the original.

The main thrust of his plan was that we needed to expand meaningfully on our (since much praised) combo system, create a far more powerful level editor (to allow for more bodacious level design) and to unify the whole experience in a themed OlliOlli universe.
