61w ago - Sony DanceStar Content Manager Nina Scherer has announced today that the SingStar client is coming to the PlayStation 3 XMB meaning no disc will be required any longer!
To quote: I promised you exciting news, so here it is! SingStar, the ultimate competitive singing game for PlayStation 3, will now be available to everyone in SCE Europe territories (as well as Australia and New Zealand) as a free download straight from the XMB.
Yes, that's right, no more need to slot in a disc to get that party started. Simply install SingStar from the XMB and you will be able to start singing in no time, share your performances with the community and visit the SingStore to get hold of more great tracks for your collection.
I've listed all the great things about SingStar on the XMB for you below but I am most excited about the fact that you can now play SingStar with your PlayStation Eye camera.
We have spent many an afternoon testing this in the office and are pretty pleased with it so please let us know what you think! This will only work for single player mode, so if you're gearing up for a serious SingStar battle, you'll obviously still need to plug in some mics.
From the included ReadMe file: Vita FTP - Developed by Coldbird - Team PRO
This is a FTP Client for the PS Vita. Launch this FTP Homebrew via a HBL (e.g. HBL r160 via Monster Hunter) and then connect with your PC Browser to the given IP, it may be this one ftp://192.168.1.5, you should be able to see the memory stick directories of your PS Vita memory card, but just the stuff inside of the PSP Emulator.
Have fun transferring files without the CMA.
1. VHBL. You must have the Vita Half-Byte Loader for one of the firmware 1.67-1.80. This works on 1.80 MHFU VHBL.
80w ago - Following up on the intial release, this weekend PlayStation 3 developer aldostools has updated his homebrew PS3 FTP Client application to version 2.8 with the changes outlined below followed by v2.9.
Update the APP_VER in PARAM.SFO of the selected games to the specified version. This option helps to avoid the update screen when the game starts (for users with PS3 connected to the Internet), preventing accidental installation of patches that require FW 3.56 or higher. A backup of the original PARAM.SFO is stored as PARAM.SFO.bak. The new option works with local files and remote files via FTP.
How to use the new feature:
To update a single game, select the PARAM.SFO, right click and select "Update APP_VER in PARAM.SFO...".
