- [ALL] now the text reader supports up to 128 text files per id: Press L/R to go to the previous/next text file. The name is similar to how the cheat.db name works: The first file is named with just the id.txt (just like now), all the others are the id + the number + .txt
eg: with SLUS_12345 as id. The first file is SLUS_12345.txt the next SLUS_123451.txt,SLUS_123452.txt~SLUS_12345127.txt
- [GAME] Improved disc id detection runtimes and by putting a new check for the mount status of isofs. This improved cwcheat startup speed (were applyable) and compatibility. This should also reduce the risk of the cheat list being corrupted.
- [ALL] Added detection of vsh mode. So now vsh has it's own id different from the one for homebrews. Cheat... More »

The new PSP is a slimmer, lighter version of the original, with a few new features. The system plays the exact same games, but now it has a video output port that lets you connect the PSP to an external display, such as an HDTV, for big-screen playback. The system also has a simplified UMD loading tray, 32MB more system memory, lower power consumption, a smaller battery, and can now charge via USB. The new PSP will replace the current system this September. Systems will be available in Piano Black, Ice Silver, and Ceramic White. They'll come in various retail packages with a variety of bundle options that include pack-in games, UMD movies, memory sticks, and, in the case of the white PSP, a Darth Vader silk-screened battery cover.
The Ice Silver PSP will ship with the Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack.
While it was nice to check out the new PSP's redesigned features at E3, what we really wanted to do was pull out a few games and test how the new portable handles ... More »

While we've seen EA's upcoming Simpsons game quite a bit recently, the game continues to pleasantly surprise us. The tongue in cheek adventure finds the animated family braving the perilous world of videogames in a platformer starring the whole clan. We had the chance to check out some new levels in the Xbox 360 and PS3 game at EA's press event today that showed off the game's smart wit and fun gameplay.
The version of the game on display at the event featured a broad sampling of levels that included many we've seen before and two new levels. The first new level, The Land of Chocolate, serves as the game's tutorial and, for those unfamiliar with the classic fantasy sequence, is set in a candy fueled dream had by Homer. The level opens with a cinematic that's right out of the cartoon and then segues to gameplay. Your goal in the level is to follow a white chocolate rabbit through a chocolate village and to the top of a cake. Along the way you're filled in on the basics of ... More »
Criterion was on hand at EA's press event today to show off the latest and greatest version of the upcoming Burnout Paradise for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game made a splashy showing at this year's E3 and our positive impressions of the speedy, gorgeous racer haven't really changed. At today's event we had a chance to check out the online and offline challenges you'll engage in which, not surprisingly involved much fun and crashing.
The big hook to the game are the options open to players as they go online. When hopping online you'll be able to jump into a challenge match that scales according to how many people are in a game, ranging from two to eight. The challenges are fast, fun cooperative experiences that have you performing stunts, catching a set amount of air or other quick and easy tasks. Though the game isn't done, Criterion reps on hand said the plan is to have well over 100 challenges for players to try, to ensure a hefty and varied amount of challeng... More »
digimonster3 has posted up some videos allegedly showing homebrew running on the PS3 under PS3 mode (not through Linux). There is speculation that it's simply running under PS1/PS2 emulation mode, but only time will tell for sure what develops. Feel free to share your feedback and check out the videos below!
Conan the game isn't directly based on any particular Conan story, but fans of the original works will recognize returning locations from the original stories, like the lands of Kush and Stygia. Of course, there will be a number of original, fantastic environments through which to slaughter, too, such as a set of ocean ruins we got to see that are full of gigantic living statues and semi-corporeal, ghost-like enemies that your weapons can't always hit. At the outset, Conan has lost four of his enchanted pieces of armor which he intends to recover, and each one will grant him a new magical attack when he retrieves it. As a barbarian, Conan doesn't especially relish the thought of using magic, but he also recognizes its utility when there are all these enemies just asking to be driven before him. Along the way, Conan will encounter A'kanna, a lithe and sensual archer who seems like she'll act as a wily feminine foil for all of Conan's trademark bluster and bravado.
Show us one person who's not yet excited about Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and we'll shamelessly assume he or she is someone with a middling PC waiting for the console versions. For everyone else, Activision is giving us an early taste of the title with the release of a demo today.
The 728 MB demo (available now via FileFront) gives players access to a full map (Valley) from the beta. If you happened to be in the beta and are already familiar with this map, it may still be worth checking out, as Splash Damage promises that it has undergone further balancing since then. This war zone is playable in both online and offline form with bots. For the best strategies in taking your skills online, be sure to read the official guide to Valley from the Quake Wars community site.
In addition to the demo, the team has also released finalized system requirements, so check t... More »
