Rumor has it that two Taiwanese manufacturing companies have been awarded contracts to build Sony's new streamlined PS3, affectionately known as the PS3 Slim.
To quote: According to UDN.com, half of the orders have gone to Taiwanese group Foxconn, while the other half has gone to Pegatron.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has threatened that the company may drop support for the PS3 console in 2010 and 2011 if things don't pick up for Sony's platform.
Apparently he wants a price cut now because the attach rate of games is very low.
To quote: “They have to cut the price, because if they don't, the attach rates [the number of games each console owner buys] are likely to slow. If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony.”

It's official: "Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun-Li" is a flop. Even given a perfunctory release on 1,136 theaters, its estimated weekend gross of $4.65 million and per screen average of $4,093 is lame, albeit not disastrous.
Box Office Mojo has a useful chart of video game-to-movie adaptations, on which "Chun-Li" comes in no. 23 of 28. Amongst the movies that beat it:...
During a recent opinion piece, one of our writers recalled an anecdote of a disturbing experience that happened on Sony's PlayStation Home recently. The snippet in question reads as follows:
"While doing some research on ‘who actually buys HOME clothing’ we happened across a fellow in a cowboy hat (who we'll call 'Jed'). After telling Jed who we were and why we were...
