Borderlands 2 PS Vita Update Out Today, Improved Stability & Control

100°
6w ago - Sony Third Party Production Director Gio Corsi announced that the Borderlands 2 PS Vita update is out today, which features improved stability and control.

To quote: It's been a few weeks since we launched Borderlands 2 for PS Vita and so far we've been overwhelmed by the community response.

We're happy to announce that title update 1.04 is available today, which should further improve the overall Borderlands 2 PS Vita experience and addresses some of the feedback from you the fans.

•We've worked with Iron Galaxy Studios to improve stability and performance throughout the game, including addressing known issues with audio playback.

•Gyroscopic controls can now be independently inverted. This should ensure that fans of inverted vertical look will also be able to enjoy Gyroscopic aiming as well!

•There are now scaling sliders for rear touch inputs in the Options menu. Many users mapped lesser used actions to the rear touch but reported that in gripping their PS Vita systems, they'd still accidentally trigger those inputs. Users can now scale the input area down to much smaller zones, mitigating this.

•Lastly, we've addressed an issue where players were not notified that their online session had expired, which caused players to incorrectly appear...

Tales from the Borderlands: First Screenshots Revealed by Telltale

50°
12w ago - Telltale Games Producer Adam Sarasohn revealed the first screenshots to Tales from the Borderlands today with details below.

To quote: One of the first things people say when they hear that Telltale is working on a Borderlands game is: "wait... what?"

After all, how does a game series that's known for bazillions of guns morph into something like The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us? Why make a Borderlands game that's not a first person shooter?

Because, if you pause to take a breath between shooting everything in sight and stealing your buddies' loot in multiplayer, you'll know that Borderlands features some amazing characters and stories in a world that's rich in dark humor.

Handsome Jack, Claptrap, Tiny Tina, Angel, Moxxi, Zer0... it's a big list. We (Telltale) are all about compelling characters and stories, and we see an amazing opportunity to build on what Gearbox has created.

Gearbox's world is huge. The main Borderlands games and the DLC have only scratched the surface; they've built a world that rivals Star Wars in its richness. That sounds like crazy hyperbole, but the details, the characters, and the history are all there....

Sony Goes Hands-on With Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita

50°
13w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill went hands-on with Borderlands 2 on PlayStation Vita today with details below.

To quote: The PlayStation social team recently had a chance to play a build of Borderlands 2 on PS Vita, and as the group's resident Borderlandophile, I immediately called dibs. What can I say about this game? It's Borderlands 2 on the Vita!

Controlling Borderlands 2 on PS Vita is a customizable affair: just go into options and remap to your heart's content. To change a control, tap the action or button (even the abilities assigned to the touch screen or rear touch pad) you want to change, then tap wherever you want the action to be.

By default, tapping different areas of Vita's rear touch pad yield a sprint or a melee attack, while a tap on the front screen tosses a grenade or activates your character-specific ability.

Shoulder buttons L and R still aim and shoot, though I did notice a useful new feature that takes advantage of PS Vita's built-in gyroscope: when you're aiming down the sight, moving PS Vita will adjust your aim.

Environments and character models are surprisingly detailed, and the game overall runs at a solid clip, generally hovering in the vicinity of 30 frames per second. Slicing dudes up as my main cyborg-man-alien-mystery-assassin-thing...

Sony Reveals Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel PS3 for PlayStation 3

50°
16w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill revealed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel PS3 for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: More Borderlands? Yes please!

2K just announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a new entry in the awesome/ridiculous/ridiculously-awesome FPS series from Gearbox. It takes place between Borderlands 1 and 2, and explores the rise of the latter's charmingly sadistic villain: Handsome Jack. Oh, and it's on the moon.

Offensive opportunities will be plentiful, with new laser-based and "Cryo" weapons joining the already gargantuan armory present on Pandora, and you can play as one of four new characters - including Claptrap.

Read on for full details about Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, straight from 2K.

Handsome Jack is back with a whole new cast of playable characters and he's taking you to the moon of Pandora in the next standalone AAA game in 2K's best-selling franchise - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. 2K announced today that the game is being co-developed by Gearbox Software and 2K Australia, and will be available later this fall for the PlayStation 3. See, aren't you glad you kept your PS3!?

Narratively, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place between the original Borderlands game and Borderlands 2. For the very first...
