14w ago - Square-Enix Associate Director of Product Marketing Amritz Lay posted up a behind-the-scenes video today showcasing Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (Part 1) below.
To quote: In 25 years, Square Enix and the Final Fantasy development team have never had a behind-the-scenes look at how the franchise is created. Until now.
We're excited to unveil a brand new series titled "Inside the Square," which takes an in-depth look at one of the greatest RPG franchises around.
Earlier this year, we ventured out to Tokyo with an Emmy award winning camera crew to spend time with Yoshinori Kitase, Motomu Toriyama, and the entire Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII development team.
We quickly realized that each member of this incredibly talented group has a lot to say. Furthermore, the Final Fantasy franchise has such a rich history and so many moving parts, we couldn't properly showcase how these games are made in one video – so you get to witness the first of a three part series.
Our goal with this series is to show everyone a different side of the development staff, and what it's like to work at one of the most prolific video game companies in the world - Square Enix.

To quote: Hi readers - my name is Roberto and I'm new here. You may see me a bit more in the future as I manage PlayStation EU's social spaces, like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and any others we may add in future.
Fred has kindly let me come on here, say hi, and tell you about something we're working on for E3. Thanks Fred!
First of all, I wanted to let you all know that we have some big plans for our social spaces, so do stick with us. And if you currently follow us on Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else, please keep letting us know what you like and what you don't like - it really helps us improve.
We want to make our social spaces as engaging, fun and visual as possible, and we'll be testing all sorts of things in the future to ensure we pull that off.
With the annual E3 show just around the corner, we've been thinking about how we can best tell the story of the week to our fans. With it being such a visual event, we thought that one of the best ways we could do that is with Instagram.
Our American colleagues have an account up-and-running right now, and in future we'll be sharing the management of the...
29w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton is here with a video showcasing Watch_Dogs which goes behind the scenes with 2013's rule-breaking action epic below.
To quote: As with any jump from one console generation to the next, PlayStation 4 owners will expect to see hardware that sits at the very cutting edge of innovation, offering unparalleled processing power and an arsenal of exciting new features.
However, the onus on game developers to bring bold new gameplay innovation to the table is every bit as integral to that generational leap, and it's a responsibility that the whipsmart team behind Ubisoft's future-tech open world action title Watch_Dogs are really tearing into.
As detailed in our coverage last week, the game's core conceit - that its central hero, hacker Aiden Pearce's primary weapon is not a gun, but an entire city - is one of the boldest, most ambitious ideas to come along in some time. To find out more about the game's attempts to re-write the action rulebook, PlayStation Blog sat down with the game's creative director Jonathan Morin...
What was the first seed of the idea that later grew into Watch_Dogs?
Jonathan Morin: It started as a conversation. Four years ago we were talking about humans exchanging their lives and their...
