9w ago - DICE Community Manager Vincent Vukovic announced that the Battlefield 4 Open Beta starts today on PS3 with details below, as follows:
Help Us Make the Game Better
These are exciting times for Battlefield fans, and everyone at DICE! Today, we're releasing the Battlefield 4 open beta on PS3, and we want you all to join.
Simply by taking part in the beta, you'll help us test the servers, online functionality, and gameplay to make sure the PS3 launch on October 29th goes as smoothly as possible.
In the open beta, you'll be able to play both the classic Conquest mode and Domination, which you might recognize from Battlefield 3: Close Quarters (it's basically a faster and tighter version of Conquest, with more emphasis on infantry combat). The map on offer is Siege of Shanghai - you might recognize it from E3, when we first unveiled it and where the public got their very first hands-on with Battlefield 4.
Now, we want to bring that experience - complete with game-changing Levolution events like the big skyscraper collapsing or setting off car alarms - to all of our fans on PS3. It's you, the player, triggering these moments.
We're also looking to our fans to provide valuable feedback on the overall gaming experience. This is in every sense...
17w ago - DICE Community Manager Vincent Vukovic revealed today that fans will be able to bring their PS3 stats to PlayStation 4 in Battlefield 4 on the upcoming PS4 video gaming and entertainment system.
To quote: This holiday, DICE will unwrap the next generation of all-out warfare with Battlefield 4. That means best-in-class multiplayer is coming to PS4 with huge 64-player battles, running at a smooth 60 frames-per-second.
Even if you start playing on PS3, we want to make your transition to PS4 easy. That's why we're notifying the devoted Battlefield and PlayStation communities that all of the time and effort you spend building up your Battlefield 4 stats will carry over when you upgrade to PS4.
That way, on October 29th, you can get in the game without any worries that you'll have to start ranking up all over again when PS4 launches. We got your back.
Today we also wanted to inform the community that DICE is promising to keep the action going all year long with the return of Premium membership for Battlefield 4.
With membership, players can expect themed digital expansion packs, new weekly content, and personalization options. And just as your stats, unlocks, and rank will be transferable from PS3 to PS4, so too will Battlefield 4 Premium membership.
79w ago - DICE Junior Product Manager Tommy Rydling has shared a new Battlefield 3 Premium PS3 video announcing the title includes close quarters and officially hits PlayStation 3 today!
To quote: Today, we have some Battlefield 3 news for you straight from this year's Electronic Arts press conference at E3.
On stage at E3, DICE Executive Producer Patrick Bach unveiled a whole year of great Battlefield 3 content. If you didn't catch the press conference yourself, we've got the details for you right here!
Our biggest news is the launch of our massive content offer, Battlefield 3 Premium. If you buy Battlefield 3 Premium, you'll also be able to download and play our latest expansion pack Close Quarters today.
That's two weeks earlier than non-Premium members on PlayStation 3, and one week earlier than Premium members on other platforms thanks to the early access that PlayStation 3 players are getting!
Battlefield 3 Premium: all five expansion packs with early access
So what does Premium get you? Well, purchasing Premium will give you all five themed expansion packs for Battlefield 3, including two weeks' early access (except - of course - for the Back to Karkand pack that...
105w ago - DICE Junior Product Manager Tommy Rydling has announced alongside a new video trailer that Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand hits PS3 a week early today!
To quote: With the PlayStation Store update later today, you will be able to buy, download and play Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand on PS3.
To celebrate launch day, here is an all-new gameplay trailer showcasing Wake Island running on PlayStation 3 hardware. I hope you like what we have done to this classic Battlefield map, and that you enjoy your one-week PS3 exclusive head start on this expansion pack.
Once you have downloaded Back to Karkand, the four new maps (Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula) will be available in the server browser and in the Quick Match filter settings just like the nine maps from the base game.
There will be servers that mix and match maps from the base game and Back to Karkand, so you will never have to commit to playing either base game or Back to Karkand maps in your gaming session.
That's it for today; keeping it short and sweet so I can go back to chasing my new Assignments. Hope you enjoyed the launch trailer, and hope to see you online. Let us know what you think about Back...
