Atlus Announces Abyss Odyssey PS3 is Out Today on PlayStation 3

50°
9w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin announced that Abyss Odyssey PS3 is officially out today on PlayStation 3 with details below.

To quote: ACE Team and ATLUS are back again with the procedurally generated adventure game with fighting game elements (EVO shoutout!), available today on PlayStation Store.

The look of the game all draws from an incredible combination of Art Nouveau and Chilean folklore, which is where many of the awesome enemies come from.

Speaking of awesome enemies, most of them have full movesets - meaning that every time you face an enemy, your combat strategy might change. And you'll have to be mindful of that, since the three main characters, Katrien, Ghost Monk, and Pincoya, will have to earn their skills through combat.

These skills can only be changed at certain points in the procedurally created abyss, so there's plenty of strategy to work around.

Another strategy, and a personal favorite of mine, is capturing the souls of fallen enemies. Assuming your experience level is high enough (it doesn't reset if you die), you can use your ultra attack to capture the very soul of the enemy and then use it to take their form in combat.

Which actually is a viable strategy at higher experience levels, since it essentially provides you with...

Video: Atlus Announces Daylight PS4 is Out Today on PlayStation 4

20w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin announced that Daylight PS4 is officially out today on PlayStation 4!

Below are the details, to quote: "They moved the afflicted to this place where you stand. They thought it would protect and leave them to grow. Then came Corruption, Persecution... and Chaos." - Dr. Mercer

Dark corridors? Check. Creepy sounds of death and terror? Check. Ominous quote with heavy implication that you're probably somewhere you shouldn't be? Double check! Daylight, the new horror game from Zombie Studios (Blacklight Retribution) and ATLUS, launches today for PS4!

This procedurally generated, first-person survival-horror game (say that ten times fast) puts you in the shoes of Sarah Gwynn - a girl who mysteriously wakes up in the abandoned Mid Island Hospital. Exits throughout areas of the hospital are sealed off with rune inscribed doors that can only be opened with unique relics.

Each relic ties into the facility's dark past, but they will only appear once you've uncovered enough of Mid Island's sadistic history. Sounds easy enough, right? Oh yeah, just watch out for those evil, revenge-driven witches stalking your every move... Remember - light is your friend!

What...

Video: Atlus Announces Conception II is Out Today on PS Vita

100°
22w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin announced that Conception II is out today on PS Vita with a fresh PlayStation Vita video trailer below.

To quote: Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars is out today for PS Vita, and you know what that means? It's time to start classmating!

Conception II is a dungeon crawler/social-sim hybrid where you're put into the role of "God's Gift" - a teenager bestowed with unprecedented amounts of power from the Star God. As a disciple, you're tasked with saving the world of Aterra by pairing up with one of the game's seven heroines and clearing out infestations of monsters.

Of course, to do that, you'll need your army of Star Children - magical beings that fight for you in battle. You make these Star Children through a magical ritual with the heroines, and you can bring up to nine Star Children with you into battle.

There's 30 classes of Star Children to choose from, and the stats of the heroine, the heroine's mood (You gotta be nice to them!), and other rare items affect what classes are available to you, so spend your time wisely.

Oh - and be sure to turn on your ad-hoc networks; you can actually classmate with another player's heroines or even the other players themselves in a process called "classmanting" (Yeah, that's a thing).

Dragon's Crown: New Difficulty and Dungeon Available Today

200°
38w ago - ATLUS PR Manager John Hardin announced today that the Dragon's Crown new difficulty and dungeon are available via PSN today!

To quote: 'Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the house, No DualShock was stirring because you didn't know there was a new Dragon's Crown patch out.

The players are all partying in the tavern with cheer, Because "Holy Crap!" a new difficulty level and dungeon are here!

I'm fairly certain that's how that poem begins, and I refuse to accept any corrections to it.

It's been a while since Dragon's Crown launched, but we haven't stopped working to make it better. We added cross play, improved the game balance, and tweaked many things to make the game even more fun. You would think we were done by now, but today we have a true holiday miracle for you: another brand new feature.

So knock the cobwebs off your Fighters, Elves, Wizards, and the rest, because we're adding in a lot of new content with The Fifth Dragon's Crown Patch.

If you've ever played a Vanillaware game before (Odin Sphere and Muramasa: Rebirth spring to mind), you know the brutal difficulty the games are known for. We got the impression that a lot of people didn't feel Dragon's Crown was hard enough on the way to level 99, so now there's a brand new Ultimate...

Atlus Announces Persona 2: Eternal Punishment Hits PSN Tomorrow

50°
81w ago - Atlus Editor Nich Maragos has announced that Persona 2: Eternal Punishment hits PSN tomorrow.

Below are the details, to quote: If you're a die-hard Persona fan, there's a good chance you have every game in the series- [Register or Login to view links], [Register or Login to view links], [Register or Login to view links], and the recent [Register or Login to view links]- playable on PS Vita... except one. Persona 2 was split into two games - Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment - the former of which came out on PSP in 2011 and the latter having had no American release.

There's good news and bad news about that. The bad news is that unusual circumstances have prevented us from localizing Eternal Punishment PSP the way we'd have liked to, but the good news is that you can still find out how the story of Tatsuya...
