17w ago - Devolver Digital Chief Financial Officer Fork Parker has posted up a video today announcing that Hotline Miami will be assaulting PS3 and PS Vita consoles this Spring.
Below are the details, to quote: The teams at Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital are thrilled to announce that the pixilated brutality and neon hyper-violence of Hotline Miami will be testing the will of gamers on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita this spring.
Through unknown black magic and dark arts, our friends at Abstraction Games are crafting an absolutely perfect version of Hotline Miami for both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita and are taking great care to take advantage of both systems nifty features.
For those unfamiliar with Hotline Miami, it's the debut commercial effort of prolific indie developer Jonatan Soderstrom and artist/designer Dennis Wedin. Hotline Miami almost immediately garnered praise from both gamers and press for its distinct visual presentation, driving soundtrack, breakneck action, and schizophrenic narrative that leaves players with more questions than answers.
Since then the game has won awards from IGN, Destructoid, Machinima, and Indiecade culminating with a nomination for the Independent Games Festival's Grand Prize.
33w ago - XSeed Games Production Assistant Brittany Avery has posted up a video today on Ragnarok Odyssey, a giant-sized RPG that is assaulting PS Vita today!
To quote: Are you ready, guys? Because right now it's Ragnarok Odyssey happy hour!
Or more like Happy Day, since today we celebrate the release of our precious PS Vita title. It's been a lengthy localization journey, but we're proud to bring out the Ragnarok Odyssey Standard Edition for $39.99, as well as the Mercenary Edition, which includes a meaty monster guide with artwork, a full soundtrack, and 10 randomized collectable monster cards out of over 50 for $49.99.
The game itself is the real star of the show, though. Think of it kind of like Monster Hunter or Gods Eater, but with more of a Norse mythology twist and a battle system that's all about knocking your enemies high into the air, then flying up after them and flinging them all over creation before slamming them back down into the hard dirt below.
It's a great game to pick up and play anytime, as you can just grab a quest...
86w ago - DICE Junior Product Manager Tommy Rydling has announced that Battlefield 3 assaults PlayStation 3 today, and has outlined the complete PS3 Trophy List below as follows:
The team at DICE is super excited to get Battlefield 3 into the hands of our PS3 fans. And, if initial reactions are anything to go by, you are equally excited....
Don't forget: you will be able to purchase, download and play the upcoming expansion pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand one week early exclusively on PS3. And hey, don't miss your chance for everlasting fame and glory - or at least being included in the in-game credits for Back to Karkand.
All you have to do to be in the running is to enter our Name it and Claim it! Challenge and submit your suggestion for our new control point on the redesigned Gulf of Oman map. But don't wait - the challenge closes on October 28th!
But today is all about the launch of the base game. Before I leave you, I just wanted to let you know what Trophies are lying in wait for the skilled and dedicated gamers we know you are. And with that, I hope you enjoy the game. Looking forward to hear from you, here or on Battlelog!
89w ago - Crytek UK Senior Designer Alex Hood has shared some new PS3 video trailer footage below of Crysis, which assaults PSN today with 3D support!
To quote: It is very exciting for me to be able to say that the original Crysis is coming to the PS3! Some of you may be wondering how we are going to bring the large open environments that Crysis is known for to console.
The expansive jungle sections, the pure white sand beaches, the open vehicle levels... maybe you're shaking your head that it cannot be done. I'm here to tell you that we've accomplished this and you will be able to experience the remastered, single-player campaign for Crysis on October 4th in North America and October 5th in Europe.
So how did we do it? As Egg Shen said, it wasn't easy! Without the power of the CryENGINE 3, we would never have attempted it, but with fully deferred lighting, a PS3-specific rendering pipeline and SPU-enhanced physics code, together with more efficient memory layouts and more intelligent algorithms, we brought the experience of Crysis to consoles without compromise.
With that said, we didn't just want to port the game straight onto console; we wanted to make sure we tailored the experience to suit it. We've brought the Crysis 2 Nanosuit...
