51w ago - I-Friqiya Executive Producer Skander Djerbi has shared a Fuel Overdose PSN tactical aspects video today showcasing an infusion of strategy in their new combat racing game below!
To quote: Hi, I'm Skander Djerbi executive producer of the half-Japanese, half-gaijin indie production Fuel Overdose on PSN (demo available now), and today I'm going to explain why and how we brought strategy to our combat racing experience.
When you think of combat racing games of the past 25 years, you realize that they more or less follow the same pattern: you collect an item and then you use it before collecting another one, and so on.
These games ask you to focus on speed and targeting but they do not really challenge your mental skills. The only decisions you might have to take from time to time are "Should I use my missile now or later?" or "Should I take that risky shortcut?"
One of the ambitions of Fuel Overdose is to propose a more complex game experience by giving each player the possibility to build his own race strategy and to reward his decision-making skills.
With Fuel Overdose, the choices made before and during the race have a real impact on your chances of success. The game leaves no room for...
233w ago - According to N4G poster Super_Secret (who stated last week that PS3 Firmware 2.80 would be released on Wednesday), the rumored PS3 Slim will arrive lacking some non-gaming features found in current PlayStation 3 console versions.
To quote: The support for other operating systems will be one such featured stripped, as well as other hardware changes, including the on/off switch in the back of the console.
Obviously only time will tell if Super_Secret is correct once again, however, it would make sense considering Sony has already docked features from the original 60GB PS3 in order to offer the current reduced price (and feature) revisions.
273w ago - In the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, Famitsu ran an interview with the developers over at Level-5. In addition to formally announcing the release date of the title as December 25, the interview revealed some other interesting tidbits.
Expectantly so, the game has a huge budget, and is the biggest game the developer has dealt with thus far. Also, White Knight is possibly only one episode in a series of many, and a prequel is already on the drawing board.
Finally, and most interestingly, there is one aspect of White Knight that has yet to be detailed. This unknown feature goes far beyond anything seen in any RPG before it. It's also something that Level-5 claims can only be done on the PS3.
So what is this tightly-kept, secret aspect? It sure has piqued our attention! More on it as the game comes closer to release.
