116w ago - Today Kmeaw has updated his PS3 AsbestOS Installer to v2.01, which is now renamed as BootOS at the request of Marcan42.

From Marcan42's Twitter: "I would appreciate it if kmeaw stopped using the AsbestOS name for his hacked up project, and released his modified source as per the GPL.

Anyone is free to modify it, but unless you're contributing to mainline, don't use the name "AsbestOS". And you must release source."

To quote: No, it's not a new application. We just uploaded a new version of our asbestos installer and decided in the process to give it a new name.

Quick release notes:

Installation:

• Delete asbestOS installer, install bootOS and run.

117w ago - Over the weekend Graf Chokolo has continued on his project updating his PS3 Linux kernel with new drivers while Kmeaw has made available AsbestOS Linux Kernel Installer v2.0, although he states it is still a work-in-progress.

118w ago - Today kha0S has made available a modified Linux image dubbed kha0S v3.0 for AsbestOS on PlayStation 3.

134w ago - Last week Marcan posted a video of AsbestOS running Linux on PS3 3.41 without OtherOS via GameOS, and today mrgatz85 has modified Hermes AsbestOS Loader and released a Beta of his own followed by MrGatz85 & Cael's Open AsbestOS Loader.
