6w ago - While it is currently rumored that Sony will unveil PlayStation 4 later this month of in early May, today PS4Daily (linked above) reports that while the PS4 will ship with 8GB of GDDR5 memory, developers will only have access to 7GB of RAM.
Below are the details, to quote: "The PlayStation 4 will ship with a massive 8 GB of GDDR5 memory, which is a huge upgrade compared to the current generation consoles. However, according to a PlayStation 4 developer PS4Daily spoke to, they have access to “only” 7 GB of RAM. The remaining 1 GB is reserved for the operating system and background tasks.
Sony showcased a lot of PlayStation 4 features during the unveiling in February. This includes deep social features running in the background, new sharing options where players can watch each other play, and background downloading of games. All this chews up quite a bit of memory. Still, having access to 7 GB of super-fast GDDR5 memory is a lot better than the 512 MB in the PS3.

9w ago - Today an online Sony patent has surfaced that outlines a method to award PS3 Trophies based on disc access, possibly to be used with the upcoming PlayStation 4 / PS4 console as well.
Below are the details, as follows: Called "Method and Apparatus for awarding trophies", the patent explains a way to award trophies, even for games that don't natively support them...
"A method and apparatus for adding trophy support games that do not have trophies without modifying the original game," the patent states.
"The method and apparatus are used to detect particular disk access, use the detected disk access as potential trophy triggers in games, and recognize the triggers while a game is played. Trophies are awarded based on the triggers, and the awarded trophies are stored."

15w ago - Recently PlayStation Vita developer Total_Noob has announced news of TN-V for PS Vita, which will bring forth both XMB and PSN access for users.
6.60 TN-V is a Custom Emulator Firmware (CEF) for the PS Vita. It offers the XMB design and the most important feature: the ability to access the PSN - the SOLUTION for 2.02 UNO owners.
It is still work in progress. There is no release date. There are quite some bugs and I have only little time to work on that.
