New Sony PlayStation & PSN Game Releases for August 19, 2014

50°
3d ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with this weeks new PlayStation and PSN game releases below, as follows:

Dark fantasy quests and Cold War operations join together in a massive week of gaming, with tons of new games joining the PlayStation family this Tuesday.

Malthael, the Angel of Death, has invaded the world of Sanctuary in Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition on PS4 and PS3. Wade into battle with the new Crusader class, and tackle Act V in one of the most iconic action RPGs in gaming history.

Uncover legendary loot, unlock powerful spells, equip awe-inspiring weaponry, and horde mountains of gold in Blizzard's latest chapter in the Diablo series. And for those that already began a quest on the original Diablo III on PS3, carry over hero progress into Reaper of Souls without missing a step.

But that's just the beginning. Keep the world's super powers at bay in Counterspy - a stylized action game set in the Cold War - on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. Infiltrate enemy positions, use wit and cunning, and keep the governments of the world from tearing each other to pieces.

For a complete list of games coming to PlayStation this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

Total_Noob has just released TN-V9.7 for lower firmware, which fixes some issues with PEOPS SPU plugin. The PS1 games I have tested on TN-V9.7 all work and you may see some improvements. I would try to mess with the SPU thread priority options to see if your favorite PS1 game will get any better results.

You can check out are PS1 compatible list of games. Download the newest revision directly on your PS Vita via the ‘System Update’ option on the XMB in TN-V or grab the files here (linked above) and thanks to SebasRTorron for putting together the super TN-V 9.7 game exploit pack you can download here (linked above).

Changelog TN-V9.7:

  • Added CDDA support for PEOPS SPU plugin -> enhanced PS1
  • Added in-XMB recovery...

5d ago - 10tons Ltd PR Coordinator Jaakko Maaniemi announced today that Crimsonland is launching this August 19th on PS Vita with details below.

To quote: Hi all! It's awesome to return from summer holidays to announce [Register or Login to view links] for PS Vita. It's launching August 19th, and will be cross buy with the PS4 version. A free trial will be available as well.

As some of you may know, the Crimsonland at hand is a remastered version of the first game 10tons ever made back in 2003. It's definitely a genre cult classic, and the remastered game was launched for PS4 in July.

A whole lot of people really appreciated how gratifying and addictive old school top down dual stick arena shooter can be even in this day and age. We also got surprisingly numerous calls for a Vita version, and we're definitely happy to deliver.

Crimsonland is a simple game. You're a space marine guy, and a huge horde of monsters is coming at you. Shoot them all, and don't die! You've got a 60-mission campaign to clear, but that's just the beginning.

Completing the missions merely unlocks the weapons and perks you need in the five endless Survival modes, where you'll face an endless onslaught and a sure...

WeirdBeard Games: 99 Bricks Wizard Academy Coming to PS Vita

50°
5d ago - WeirdBeard Games developer Joram Rafalowicz announced today that 99 Bricks Wizard Academy is coming to PS Vita with details below.

To quote: Hello, we are [Register or Login to view links], a five-man indie studio from Amsterdam in the Netherlands. We're happy to finally introduce ourselves, though we've been around for almost seven years now.

When we started our studio we had a dream of making games people want to play, and bringing those games to consoles - but we didn't want to be a starve-up.

So we spent our time making all kinds of games for all kinds of clients while working on our own concepts. We're very proud to be able to pay our three full time employees a good salary and still have a roof over our own head.

Doing it our own way for almost seven years may seem like a long time, but that makes it even sweeter that our dream is coming to reality. We're super excited to announce that we're bringing 99 Bricks Wizard Academy to PS Vita!

99 Bricks Wizard Academy is a magical physics tower building game. The tetromino bricks are not used to create and clear lines, but as building blocks. You have to stack them with care otherwise your construction will crumble.

We love using a twist on a well-known concept to create new experiences....
