PSP Developer Poison has updated both his PlayStation Portable HostCore Plug-In (allows users to access media content located on their PC via PSP) and also his CXMB Plug-In today to include 5.00 M33 Firmware compatibility.

Dark_AleX has released an update to the fatmsmod patch today. Apparently it stopped working in 5.00 due to a Sony file changing its name.

Instructions: decrypt 3.71 using psardumper (square option).
Copy the file fatmsmod.prx in the root of memory stick.

Today OldPrisoneR has updated FuSa for the PlayStation Portable, which is a Custom Firmware Plug-In allowing users to play PSP games on televisions regardless of input cable type.

Today Dark_AleX has released a PlayStation Portable 1.50 kernel add-on for 5.00 (phat) consoles with M33 Custom Firmware.

Instructions: Copy to /PSP/GAME5XX and run.

I'm unsure about what this file is for (maybe for Japanese text predicition?) but system works fine with it.

IF you want to keep some of the things deleted by the 150k_installer do following things.

Update: Dark_AleX discovered PSX problems in 5.00 M33 due to a bug in M33 code that is caused sometimes with certain icons. He stated, "I'm not gonna bother do an update only for this but I'll post the file that fixes this for anyone wanting to fix it manually replacing the file."

With the release of PlayStation Portable Firmware 5.00 yesterday, PSP hacker Dark_AleX has made available PSARDumper for 5.00 Decryption.

From the ReadMe file: This is psardumper for 5.00. The table format has changed due to the inclusion of PSP3000.

Note: psp3000 modules cannot be decrypted yet, not even their names. The keys for the filenams table are in mesg_led03.prx of psp3000 which we cannot access yet. Additionally the keys for the modules themselves are in the ipl o psp3000 which cannot yet be accessed.

Due to that, you will see various warnings about "could not find path of XXXXX", just ignore that.

The Official UK PlayStation site has also published an article detailing ALL of the features included in PlayStation Portable system software update 5.00. It reveals that support for MPEG-4 AVC is included.

To quote: PSP system software version 5.00 has increased the number of file types that can be played to include MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) Video Main Profile (AVC CABAC) in 640 x 480 pixels.

If you update your PSP system, the system software version will be 5.00 and the following features will be updated.

Main features updated in version 5.00

• PlayStation®Store is now available on the PSP™ system

Using a Wireless network connection, you can now download (as a purchase or for free) products such as games, additional items for games, or video content for use on the PSP system.
