Sony Announces ITV Player and 4oD Are Now Available on PS3

189w ago - Sony UK Marketing Assistant Rose Pickard has announced today that ITV Player and 4oD are now available on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Great News TV Fans: ITV Player and 4oD have joined BBC iPlayer as TV catch-up services on PlayStation 3.

Catch up on great TV with a wide selection of popular ITV Player programmes including Coronation Street, Gossip Girl and Emmerdale on all UK Internet connected PS3's.

Popular 4oD programmes including Peep Show, Hollyoaks and Misfits are also now available.

To start watching, simply connect your PS3 to the Internet, sign into your PSN account and then select the TV icon on the XMB (Xross Media Bar) and opt for the ITV Network triangle or 4oD.

This will take you directly to the service where you can watch popular programmes from the last 30 days, free of charge.

UK Channel 4 Interested in Bringing 4oD Service to PlayStation 3

208w ago - A few months back we reported that ITV was in talks with Sony, and today TechRadar.com (linked above) reports that [Register or Login to view links] is interested in bringing their 4oD on-demand service to the PlayStation 3 entertainment system as well.

If 4oD was available on the PS3, fans would be able to view popular shows on demand including Skins, Father Ted and Come Dine With Me amongst others.

An unnamed source from Channel 4 has recenrly revealed to Broadcast Magazine that they are seeking to launch on the PS3 platform.

To quote: "Channel 4 is in talks with Sony to bring video on demand service 4oD to the PlayStation 3 and is also developing an iPad app. A report in Broadcast magazine reveals that talks are already ongoing, suggesting that they are still in the early stages.

Although the BBC iPlayer has already been a huge hit on the PS3 Channel 4's service would be the first commercial arrival. 'We're looking to launch on the PS3,' a source told Broadcast Magazine."
