A new Wii System Menu update is now available in both North America and Europe.

Similar to the previous one that deleted and blocked Wii homebrew, this one is also labeled as version 4.2.

Comex released today BannerBomb v2 for the Wii System Menu 4.2. From what I have read, it works great on 4.2 E/U Firmware. But give a try for yourself and let us know your experience with it.

It appears Nintendo has released another Wii System Menu update today to version 4.2.

Like previous updates, this latest revision will both delete and block Wii homebrew... and in some cases destroy consoles, so be aware of this before updating your console.

It's also a mandatory update in order to access the Wii Shop Channel.

At CEDEC 2009, Sony Home developer Masami Kando revealed that a future update will enable users to load up the PlayStation Store directly from Home.

This will allow you to do things such as downloading demos from PlayStation Home via PlayStation Store and playing online with friends.

Famitsu.com also shows images of a new virtual pet robot (pictured below) for PlayStation Home...

Similar to both the Petitboot Bootloader and pdaXrom-NG Bootloader for PS3 Linux, the OurOS project in development is a Linux-based user interface for the PS3.
