Poisonhzkj has issued a minor maintenance update to CXMB. Version 3.2.1 fixes a bug that caused the plug-in to crash at times when applying a new XMB theme.
Additionally, the issue of theme settings reverting back to default after exiting from a UMD title has been solved.
On a side note, the author mentioned that a 4.01 M33 compatible version of HostCore, which allows users to access media content and files on their PC from the PSP, is due out soon.

Dark_AleX has issued an update to the 4.01 M33-compatible plug-in, fixing numerous bugs along with adding support for UMD disc titles. Additionally, savestates can now be created on a per-game basis.

Changelog:
* Fixed important bug in inter-thread code (semaphore wasn’t waiting due to interrupts disabled), that caused the load state to not be completely read in some cases. This caused black screen after state load (unless you just saved that state, in this case state was still in ram), or even worse, game not working properly due to partial load.
* Added states per game basis. The controls are slightly different: old controls now do a local savestate/loadstate of the game, while pressing additiona... More »
Poisonhzkj has returned with an official update to the theme-changing plug-in, adding full support for 4.01 M33 series custom firmware. And that’s not all, this version of CXMB is cross-compatible with earlier CFW revisions, including 3.71, 3.80, and 3.90 M33.
The author notes that users who built themes for the unofficial build will either need to re-package their CTF file or hex edit it at the offset 0×10, replacing DEAD0400 with DEAD0401.
Included in the archive below is both the “full” and “lite” edition of CXMB. If you are simply using CTF format themes created by others, it is recommended to install the latter.

For those interested, CXMB allows users to safely load non-PTF custom made XMB themes from memory stick, rather than by replacing files on the PSP’s flash memory.

Sony’s Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network operations, has sent word that PSP Firmware 4.01 is scheduled to be released soon. The update will include two main changes, the latter being improved video playback for certain file types.
* Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
* Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.
It would be nice to know which file types... Does this mean DivX and XviD format files will finally be playable through the PSP’s built-in video player?
Maybe, but if so, you’d think Sony would at least mention it, instead of vaguely stating that compatibility has been improved. Either way, we’ll find out for sure when the Firmware is released. :p
