Here are a few more details about the features that weren't covered in the video:

• Quick Counts and Player Lock are game options; they aren't mandatory.
• Quick Counts and Player Lock are available in all game modes except Road To The Show.
• Player lock will allow you to play a full game in as little as 10 minutes.

18w ago - Following up on How to Play Media Files on Your PS4 by $n!pR, today Italian PlayStation 4 developers BiteYourConsole have created BiteYourPlayer v1.0 Beta which is a PS4 Media Player HTML Mod with details below.

Download: hfs.rar (Http File Server v2.2f - no setup) / BiteYourPlayer.rar

To quote, roughly translated: The new PlayStation 4 is equipped with a web browser from all over, maybe one of the fastest on a console from the living room, and so that BiteYourConsole jumped at the potential offered by a language such as HTML5.

With a speech of this magnitude we were able to make a simple but potential movie player in mp4 format (format commonly used for watching movies via smartphone and PlayStation Portable).

To run the application needs a Http Server, we have chosen HTTP File Server (HFS) that once started will allow us to be able to watch our video from any device connected to our Wi-Fi network.

Quickstart to PS3 Plugin Development in Showtime by Facanferff

1400°
21w ago - Following up on the previous update, today PlayStation 3 developer facanferff has made available a Quickstart to PS3 Plugin Development in Showtime with details below.

To quote: Since a long time ago, some users have requested me to write a tutorial so they could create their own Showtime plugins. This is an initial attempt to it, I hope you like. If I make some mistake, I'm sorry, I'm not a teacher.

Overview

Before we get our hands dirty, it’s important to explain some little things that might help you later in making your own plugins. Plugins for Showtime (also known as Apps) are exclusively written, at the moment, in Javascript. To bring plugins to life, Showtime uses a Javascript engine called Spidermonkey (as of now, Showtime uses Spidermonkey 1.8.0-rc1). To learn more about this engine, you may go to developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Projects/SpiderMonkey.

If you ever did web development, you may wonder if the Javascript API that work in normal web browser might work here, well, the answer is no. Due to this, you will not find things like DOM or AJAX in your toolbox, but you may and should use the basic Javascript.
