30w ago - Today industry insider [Register or Login to view links] Tweeted that the PS4 is rumored to get support for PSOne (PS1) and PS2 select titles with native 1080p rendering and more with details below.

To quote via DualShockers (linked above): "E3 is approaching fast, and according to industry insider Ahsan Rasheed, that is normally quite accurate with the information his sources give him, Sony has a lot of interesting things in the pipeline, as he said today on Twitter.

Be excited: 1. Local PS2 / PS1 support on PS4 w/ native 1080p rendering for select titles.

2. Bluray+Media Player updates

3. VR demos from at future events 4. PS4 exclusive game stuff 5. PlayStation Now launch

Number 1 I've known for a good minute, but software is still buggy and not every game works. Please be excited.

Ahsan continued by giving more details on what's going on behind the scenes with the Project Morpheus virtual reality headset:

Devs I'm talking to really want to try Morpheus. Community feels like it is the best way to introduce VR to mainstream consumers.

Oh and Sony has opened the floodgates asking for open criticism from third parties on Morpheus and what they want to see in a final product.

If you...

Videos: New Driveclub PS4 1080p Footage on PlayStation 4 Arrives

59w ago - Evolution Studios Community Development Manager Jamie Brayshaw is here with some fresh PS4 videos for the weekend showcasing Driveclub 1080p footage on PlayStation 4 below!

To quote: Thanks to everyone that played the DRIVECLUB demo at Gamescom! There were some blindingly quick racers, and even though my team weren't the fastest overall, we earned the most fame points to win the challenge.

So that means that the Gamescom trailer plays out with "Like A Boss" winning, which I'm obviously very happy about! Also, in case you were wondering, the music track is Be Here Now by Hybrid (The Qemists remix).

The reaction we got at the show was fantastic, with over a thousand people trying the demo each day. I spoke to a lot of people playing the game and the key thing that stood out and really connected with people was the concept of "always having something to play for" and "always contributing to the success of your club."

The fastest racers loved that they could aim for first place on the leaderboard and still play over and above that to beat every challenge in every event.

Everyone else enjoyed being able to focus...

Voodoo Chronicles: The First Sign Rises on PS3 Tomorrow in 1080p

66w ago - Sanuk Games Manager Yan Marchal announced today that Voodoo Chronicles: The First Sign rises on PS3 tomorrow in 1080p.

To quote: I'm ecstatic to announce that Voodoo Chronicles: The First Sign shall be brought to life in the US on PlayStation Store for PS3 on July 16th, pinned with a bargain price of only $5.99.

Originally developed by [Register or Login to view links], a studio renowned for their top-end hidden object adventure games, Voodoo Chronicles: The First Sign comes to PS3 in an all-new high-definition edition with native 1080p graphics.

When the game was first presented to me, I was impressed by its art quality, level of polish, and amount of content that were clearly above genre standards. Since then, most PC users have echoed my feelings with high ratings, while also praising the game's original soundtrack and spellbinding atmosphere. The availability of yet-to-be-used HD 1080p graphics for all scenes further convinced me that a PS3 edition was simply necessary.

The game has you play as James Voodoo as he investigates mysterious attacks through the forsaken hamlet of Ravenhill, the wealthy city of Richtown, and a variety of breathtaking sceneries inspired by major fiction genres: adventure, film noir, thriller, steampunk, and more!

Okami HD at Comic-Con: Amaterasu Unleashed with Move, 1080p

119w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared details today of Okami HD from Comic-Con: Amaterasu Unleashed which includes PlayStation Move support and 1080p!

To quote: San Diego Comic-Con doesn't want for distractions - famous graphic novelists greet their fans, uber-limited edition collectables line sprawling tables, and cosplayers roam the halls by the thousands.

When I learned that Capcom would be showing Okami HD at their booth, all of those attractions quickly dropped in importance; I knew where my Comic-Con would kick off.

Mere seconds after the doors of the San Diego Convention Center opened for business, [Register or Login to view links] Tristan Corbett handed me a PlayStation Move motion controller and I beheld Japanese sun goddess-turned-canine Amaterasu in full HD glory for the first time.

Not all HD remakes are created equal, but Hexa Drive's effort clearly isn't just a soulless re-processing. With the PS3's hardware muscle to play with, they're working to improve draw distance and load times over the PS2 original.

The cel-shaded visuals up-rez quite nicely, with the game's iconic bold, black outline strokes popping off the HD display. All cutscenes have been fully recreated, and areas of the game that the team felt weren't...

122w ago - 2XL Games Creative Director Robb Rinard has announced today that Jeremy McGrath's Offroad will be speeding to PSN on Tuesday at 1080p and 60 fps with details below!

To quote: We're pretty stoked to be able to say that our digital racing title, Jeremy McGrath's Offroad, is nearing the finish line and will be launching on PlayStation Network next Tuesday, June 26.

We've been hard at work on this fantastic and surprisingly deep arcade-style racer for quite some time now. Now buckle up and I'll explain why you should you be interested in [Register or Login to view links].

First of all, as some of you may know, 2XL Games has a very strong racing game development pedigree. Many of our lead programmers and artists worked on the MX vs. ATV series and here at [Register or Login to view links] have put out several extremely successful racing apps and games. We are proud to be among the premier racing game developers.

What makes a top quality racing game? Having fun learning how to master the driving physics, then using that mastery to find the fastest line around the track. Since you're driving on dirt, this game is all about learning to power slide your vehicle around the corners while staying on that perfect line. Start your turns a bit...
