Video: Evolve PS4: Wraith Hands-on for PlayStation 4, Details

300°
1d ago - Sony Social Media Senior Manager Sid Shuman is here with a fresh Evolve PS4 wraith hands-on PlayStation 4 video and details below!

To quote: The Wraith is a seductively sneaky addition to Evolve, Turtle Rock's upcoming PS4 online shooter that pits four human hunters against one of three monstrous aliens in a battle for species survival.

Compared to the hulking Goliath and maneuverable Kraken, the Wraith is a stealthy creature that gracefully dances into and out of battle with skills designed to mislead and misdirect.

A perfect example is Decoy, which sends an aggressive clone lunging into the fray while rendering your monster invisible - perfect for distracting your human opponents from the front so you can strike from the rear.

Precision ability Abduction darts you forward to drag a single hunter away from his comrades. That opens up a perfect chance to use Supernova, which rends nearby foes in a high-damage dervish of bladed claws.

A fourth ability, Warp Blast, catapults the Wraith forward to deliver a high-impact explosion. The Wraith is noticeably less durable than the Goliath and Kraken, so you'll rely on hit-and-run tactics, using abilities like Decoy and Abduction to keep enemy...

550°
1w ago - Square Enix Associate Product Marketing Manager Scott Strichart revealed the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Collector's Edition for PlayStation 4 today with details below, as follows:

Good evening! It's a little later than we usually post, but we wanted to bring you this bit of news as soon as it broke. Today, er, tonight, we're happy to announce that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is getting its very own Collector's Edition.

Available in limited quantities, you can lock in your order on this premium collection of cool stuff now, for $99.99. Ah, but what's in it, you ask? Well, in industry circles, we call the image below a "beauty shot," and with good reason! Look upon its majesty.

Let's discuss what you're seeing, shall we? We'll start with the golden Steel Book case, featuring what I personally think is one of long-time Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano's finest pieces - the goddesses of Orience. On the inside is the Japanese kanji for the game title: 零, or "Rei," meaning "zero," and 式, or "shiki," meaning "type." We know you guys appreciate authenticity.

The Steel Book holds both the game disc and a 15-track collection of songs hand-picked by the game's composer, Takeharu Ishimoto. If the name doesn't ring a bell, he also did the score for Crisis Core -Final Fantasy...

Or maybe you attended the panel with our multiplayer team and learned about how this was developed. If you participated in our tournament in Vegas, you might be downloading this new content for free today.

For those of you who didn't make it out to [Register or Login to view links], there's a lot of fun coming your way. Here's a look:

Clearly our The Last of Us combat designer has a soft spot for a good takedown and has designed some very visceral, very lethal Special Executions across nine different weapon categories. These sets of animations are available for purchase for $0.99 each.

We had to exclude some sets from the PS3 version of the game due to memory constraints on the hardware....

Video: Drawn to Death, Hand-Drawn Arena Shooter Coming to PS4

50°
2w ago - Video Game Designer / Director David Jaffe made available a PS4 video trailer video today announcing that Drawn to Death, a hand-drawn arena shooter, is coming to PlayStation 4.

To quote: Hey y'all! David Jaffe here, game director at The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency.

Today's a big, big day for all of us at our little game making and ghost hunting studio.

As for the ghost hunting team, Bartlet and crew have made some big discoveries in the whole Al Capone opera house haunting. Keep an eye out for an update that should be hitting your favorite ghost hunting site soon (and perhaps major news sites as well if what Bartlet thinks they've found ends up being authenticated!)

As for the game making part of the company, today is the day we're finally able to reveal DRAWN TO DEATH, the game we've been making with the fantastic crew at Sony San Diego!

And if I may, before I jump into details, I gotta say: MAN it feels great to be back with my Sony family!!!

I remember sitting in Scott Rhode's office 18 months ago, pitching him the game and trying to be cool and pro and not express my excitement when it started to become clear that Scott was going to give Drawn To Death the go ahead and that PlayStation 4 would be the home of the studio's first...

Video: The Forest: Open-World Survival Horror Hitting PlayStation 4

50°
2w ago - Endnight Games Co-Founder Anna Terekhova announced today that open-world survival horror game The Forest is hitting PlayStation 4 with a PS4 video trailer below!

To quote: Think back to your childhood days: playing outside, building a fort, skipping a stone on a lake... now add cannibals who want to tear you apart.

This is 'The Forest' and it's on its way to PS4.

There are no missions, no NPC's telling you what to do and no text in the middle of the screen telling you to 'Follow.' You know those parts in games where some character is yelling at you, telling you what to do and to do it faster? Those moments' drive us crazy.

When we're in a game world we want to choose what we do and how we do it. This has been the driving force behind all the decisions we make. What would give players the most freedom and options. We think the best stories in games are the ones that occur on their own, the ones you experience naturally in the world.

Something we've learned over the past 6 months is that people love to share their gameplay experiences, as well as watch other people's playthroughs. Using the PS4 Share feature makes this even easier for players.

People can show off the bases...
