160w ago - Today Q-Games Ltd President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert has unveiled on Sony's PlayStation Blog that the PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe PSP UMD is now being offered for just $10.
To quote: We're happy to announce that today, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe makes its grand debut outside the PlayStation Network! Yes, that's right, due to popular request from you, the fans, we have twisted Sony's arm to release the game on UMD in North America.
Even better, we have squeezed the price down to just $9.99 which is an *amazing* value! Think about it: three islands and over 45 stages to play. As Monsters fans know, that means quite literally hundreds and hundreds of hours of incredible gameplay...every minute as addicting and fun as the last.
On top of that, full online play is supported. You can play cooperatively with anyone in the world, or just hang out in the chat rooms and watch the sports-like "ticker-tape" commentary of existing games run by. It's a very cool new feature, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
And of course, all the money we make from Monsters is being funneled into future PixelJunk games (we have some crazy stuff in store for you!), so that's an even greater incentive to jump to your local game retailer right now. Buy it for yourself, buy...
196w ago - Following analyst Michael Pachter's prediction from earlier today comes another PS3 price cut ad leak... this time from Hastings, a Texas-based retailer.
According to the ad, the current stock of 160GB PS3s will be cut to $400, a $100 savings over the original.
In related news, CAG is reporting FYE is now selling 80GB PS3 consoles for $299, with the Uncharted bundle for $400.
To quote: Of potential importance is the phrasing: the ad mentions the PS3 is experiencing a "price cut" versus a temporary "sale." The cut begins September 8th, weeks after Sony's press conference at Gamescom.
The reduced price could be exclusive to Hastings, and isn't necessarily indicative of a nationwide price drop. However, a price drop on current PS3 models can clear inventory and make way for a possibly upgraded one.
197w ago - Today a Best Buy listing for PlayStation Network Cards appears to reveal that $10 PSN Cards are coming soon to PlayStation 3 and PSP owners.
No word yet on whether they will also hit Europe, however, US buyers can currently add them to their carts for $10 each.
To quote: Looks like the $10 PSN cards are real, and coming soon.
Currently only $20 and $50 PSN cards are readily available for purchase, but soon enough the $10 cards will make their way to store shelves, while giving everyone a more affordable choice to reward or gift that gamer in your life.
209w ago - Here we go again... Analyst Colin Sebastian believes Sony's forecasts will only be achievable if they cut the price of the PS3 console by $100.
He noted Sony's outlook supports expectations for a PS3 price reduction this year, likely to be some point between E3 and end of the summer.
To quote: Analyst Colin Sebastian claims Sony's forward forecasts can only come into fruition if PS3 price falls by $100.
Sony yesterday predicted that PS3 unit sales would increase by 3m (30 per cent) in the next 12 months - a figure that Lazard Capital Markets' Colin Sebastian says can only be achieved via a $100 price cut to the machine.
"PS3 guidance suggests pending price reduction - timing and amount uncertain," Sebastian explained in an investor guidance statement.
"We believe Sony's outlook supports expectations for a PS3 price reduction this year, likely at some point between the E3 industry conference in June and the end of the summer, as Sony is able to reduce PS3 production costs.
"A significant price cut could provide the PS3 with a needed shot in the arm. In addition to a $100 price reduction, which would put the PS3 in easier reach of a mass-market audience,...
