In what can only be called strange or awesome, a Chinese developer that now makes MP3 players has ported FF7 to the NES. It is more or less the entire PSX game redone on the old Nintendo. It even includes the materia system. Note that many of the graphics and sound are edits of FF3 on the NES even though the game itself is actually a new creation, not a hack.
The Pirate Bay is currently working on an OiNK replacement in an attempt to bring the hundreds of thousands of music albums back online that disappeared during the raid. The replacement will be released within a week and on the BOiNK.cd domain.BOiNK will be a little different from OiNK. For instance, the tracker will be public and it will start out with a lot less torrents than OiNK had when it was raided. The success of BOiNK will mainly depend on the former OiNK community, who will be asked to upload their old OiNK torrents. The most important thing about BOiNK is perhaps the message it sends out to the IFPI and the BPI: It shows that that if you stop one tracker, others will pop up days after. It is a hydra. Call it a slap in the face if you want.

92 Vote(s)

As of right now, only nforce and VIA chipsets are supported in 100% software read/write of the BenQ drive with DosFlash(info). Success varies dependent upon which motherboard you have (intel (ICH) seems to be problematic combined with VIA. Also the iXtreme firmware for the BenQ drives has not yet been released. However, you can use this to get your DVD drive's code to replace it with an iXtreme flashed Samsung or Hitachi. Download: DosFlash v1.3 Beta (soft flashing with NForce and VIA supported)|http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/iriez/DosFlash1.3_BETA.zip- BenQ optimization in unlocking the flash chip, it should now be possible to read/write/erase the flash without any soldering or wire tricks, the drive is polled for the correct mtk unlocking status after power on, this only works for VIA cards and NForce boards atm- DosFlash32 has one additional parameter, if you start it with the parameter "EnableDrives" all the DVD-ROMs are enabled in device manager after flashing, this could give BSOD on some systems, therefor you need to create a DosFlash32 link and add that parameter manual to use it- DosFlash16 has one additional parameter "Send ATAPI Device Reset" in manual mode, this could give better chances for soft flashing on some VIA - motherboard combinations- better support of Intel chipsets, drives can now be flashed if the controller is not set to native mode in the BIOS- the following controller list includes vendor and device IDs that are hardcoded to identify the controller type (IDE or SATA), this is needed if the BIOS uses IDE ports like 0x01F0 or 0x0170 as SATA and not as IDE channels, this list is NOT related to soft flashing

467 Vote(s)

Changes for this release include:Download Here|http://www.cyclopsds.com/downloads/evo-firmware-1.21.zip* Miniaturized game icons are shown in list view* Random skin selection* Allow unlimited number of skins* Fixed GBA linking with 3in1* Compatibility fixesAs the users manual has yet to be updated, following is some more detailed information regarding the changes:1. In order to enable random skin cycling, toggle the skins in the settings menu until "Random" is selected. With this selected, a different skin from your collection will be chosen and used each time you boot CycloDS Evolution.2. In order to enjoy GBA game linking via the 3in1, you must disable rumble support through the settings menu. As rumble is disabled by default, if you wish to utilise rumble during gameplay then please ensure that you first enable this in the settings menu.3. List view now displays scaled down game icons. The icons are scaled from 32x32 to 16x16 so obviously they dont look as good as the full sized icons, but its better than having nothing displayed at all.

170 Vote(s)

From Major Nelson:"First off, let me get this out of the way right up front: This is not the 'fall dashboard update.'Today the team is releasing a minor system update via Xbox Live. Over the next few hours, when you sign in to Xbox LIVE, you'll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. What's in this update? Much like the update last month, the only thing this minor release will do is prepare your Xbox 360 for the Big Button Pad that is being released this holiday. Why do we need to release this update now? Simple: The certification team needs time to test the new controller against the retail hardware/software combination before it hits stores. One more thing: no new features beyond this big button pad support are included in this update and, once again, this is not the 'fall dashboard upgrade.' When I have firm details on the next major update, I will share them."Needless to say, if you have anything resembling a hacked 360, you should hold off.

169 Vote(s)

USB 3.0 improves upon its successors by adding fiber-optic cable inside alongside the copper wiring, greatly increasing the speeds. The upgrade should allow for high-def devices, such as HD DVD or Blu-ray players, to use the standard to send data. As of now, today's USB cables aren't fast enough for such heavy transfers, sending data at 480 megabits per second. USB 3.0, on the other hand, will increase that tenfold to a whopping 4.8 gigabits per second. The fancy new cables should start hitting shelves and being used in devices around 2009 or 2010.

111 Vote(s)

On top of all of the regular features of the game, Aspyr's version will allow PC and Mac users to battle against each other in online multiplayer, perhaps allowing us to settle the Mac versus PC debate once and for all in glorious rock combat!
