Yeah, if a wired install leaves in dual-boot, and they drop the price a bit I'll probably still be down for one.

Well - most probably because to be able to actually switch the on board memory off and activate the "external" one they need to acces some extra "soldering" points which are not accessible directly by simply clipping on top of the chip. And they might be at the same time looking for another HW solution to allow that but they might not even find one.

Still - if you gonna open your PS3 and broke the warranty you can still solder a couple wires here and there (or most probably not even wires but just solder points from the clip ribbon to a few spots on the PS3 mainboard) - still better than soldering 50+ wires ...

Yes the other ones have been doing this for a while. However the only thing that they did was make easier to install and better for use with the hard drive station. But what I has heard for a owner of a web site that sells the product is that the refund level now for the e3 is high. After saying that the dual boot is gone people are asking in high demand for a refund. I have changed my order from 3 to 1 that I am going to get. Still have to test it and see what I can do with it.

But the demand is down so.. Maybe the price will fall soon. Or they will I hope find a way for the dual boot to work. Thanks

That's a long procedure , I think it's fine if you're going to stay on one FW for a while. But couldn't you already do this using the Progskeet or Infectus?

Also I hope the email comes back with good news.

What this is saying is that the dual firmware they are talking about is:

Flash to 3.55 and then install a cfw. And then use the hard drive you want to use for cfw. Ok now to use Psn. You have to upgrade to ofw 3.72 and then use a different hard drive for that. So now if you want to go back to cfw, downgrade to ofw 3.55 and then install cfw and use the hard drive for cfw. Now to go back to 3.72 upgrade to 3.72 ofw and use that hard drive. And so on...

As I said before that it is a high priced downgrader. I have emailed them to find out if someone would not use the clip and use the solder way if one could still use the dual boot feature. And I am waiting an email from them. Thanks and I will let you know.
