1 - PROGSKEET is 100% PIN to PIN compatible with the SOCKET tool sold from this site [Register or Login to view links]

Just connect the ProgSkeet 32 pin special flat cable. (please note that this version don't support programming or reading with out the device is powered on. A new version will be released with the VCC pad to manage NANDS with a self power provided from PROGSKEET) 360-clip.com and also us we will offer this socket in a package together with the 20 cm 32 PIN flat cable.

2 - ADAPTOR PCB: This pcb is an adaptor from 50PIN ZIF PROGSKEET CONNECTOR (necessary for the coming "NOR SOCKET" solderless tools) to 2 x 32 PIN ZIF connector. With this adaptor progskeet is able to manage 2 NANDS on the DEVICE and also extra 2x SECONDARY NANDS (for dual nand feature). The kit include the 50 pin flat cable from PROGSKEET to ADAPTOR PCB.

3 - NAND PCB: This "optional" pcb has a 1Gbit NAND flash on board. Progkseet is able to use it like a backup nand or switch this nand and use it instead the NAND on the board of the device. The feature called "DUAL NAND" allow to support different NANDs ONLINE and test firmwares in a easy fast way. The software will be ready soon to support this feature, user can also attach a switch to progskeet to allow a fast selection of the NANDs without using the PC tool.

Progskeet support max 2 x NAND PCB on each ADAPTOR PCB, the kit include a 32 PIN 3CM flat cable (from NAND PCB to NAND SOCKET)

You can see a FULL PROGSKEET KIT SAMPLE where is clear how is the complete kit with 2x NANDS PCB and 2x NANDS SOCKETS (on the picture miss one socket sorry J ) but I think the concept is clear.

The big advantage of PROGSKEET is that can work on ANY CONSOLE / DEVICE, is study to be MODULAR and so is MUCH CHEAPER then any other solution that is specific addressed to a device.

The nice special FLAT CABLES are also easy to be fitted inside the device without bit problems, and also the KIT is removable in few minutes and is not PERMANENT.

We remember that PROGSKEET is an OPEN PROJECT study to be used in many kind of devices CONSOLES, SATELLITE, IPHONES, PENDRIVERS etc etc. "PROGSKEET NOTHING MORE THAN A GOOD NAND / NOR PROGRAMMER".

Today Winskeet Bitstream Progskeet 1.2 has been updated by uf6667 (via forum.dayton360mods.com/showthread.php?1004-New-Winskeet-Bitstream-1-2) alongside the release of ProgSKEET Programmer Version 1.0 with details below.

Changelog 130721:

  • NAND works PERFECT now
  • last bitstream before final release
  • progskeet core was rewritten and command set reimplemented in qt (hence the lack of releases in almost a week)
  • versioning added (it will check if you are using the appropriate bitstream, which is located in /bitstream)
  • use of files to load presets (instead of using the box on the first page)... nand is still in the making, so I left the first box as-is for now
  • CFI for NOR works however, presets include most popular NORs but you can also save them (click "Dump CFI" and then "yes" when you are asked to save. put them in /cfi/)
  • handshakes implemented (goodbye timeouts! might, but doesn't have to, make it slower though... on the other hand, this might enable calibration for specific computers/chipsets )
  • usb core had a bug where it would just keep writing to fifo regardless of full or not, but this has been fixed
  • SPI flashing added! (will only be available once I release it for every platform though)

Instructions:

ProgSKEET Programmer V1.0

  • Connect the ProgSKEET programmer to your USB port (windows)
  • Install the ProgSKEET-programmer-USBDrivers
  • Open the Command Line of your windows (search CMD.EXE and execute it)
  • Use the command "CD" to reach the "SOFTWARE DIRECTC" directory. Example "CD" c:/document and setting/pippo/desktop/progskeet-programmer/software directc"
  • Place in the same directory of the "directc.exe" the file .DAT that you want to program
  • Type the command "directc -aprogram filename.dat"

About: Ok so I've been working hard on this (like every hour of almost every single day since the last release) and frankly I can't remember every single modification I've made.

I'm still building the bitstreams for 1.0 (white), 1.1 (blue), 1.2 alpha (green, if you've been naughty enough to get one) SO BE PATIENT, MY PROMISE STILL STANDS. It's also coming to Linux and Mac, don't worry! The command line will have to wait a bit longer, I just can't be bothered with it right now (so much other shit I need to take care of first).

If there is any problem WHATSOEVER, please let me know.

I haven't added the bit yet where it tells you which lines might be out of order but I will as soon as I manage to get it working reliably. NAND, due to the promise of releasing within 24 hours, couldn't be fully tested, so I'd appreciate if, only if problems arise, you could detail the problems as much as possible.

Also, regarding my absence: all of this testing takes a lot of time, even more so than school, so I didn't have time to come on IRC or twitter. I'll be more active on twitter from now on: uf6667

  • HIGHLY improved single word flashing
  • Added hardware data polling (this was a tough one, even I have to tap my shoulder for this; oh, and it uses this by default)
  • Both NAND and NOR are in one bitstream now (!!!)
  • No more pullups needed (!!! WICKED, INNIT THO !!!)
  • Reverted to libusb-win32 because it gives me less shit, but depending on feedback, I'll add libusb0
  • Did I mention it's fcking fast? it's going to become even faster, I just wanted to keep my promise, somewhat, of releasing within the next 24h
  • Tooltips (can't remember if it was in the last release?)

130713: buffer write works, about 70 seconds for 16MB spansion (which used to require 15 minutes!) updated bitstream

130715: buffer write and single word improved, I write an entire 16MB nor, buffer write, in about 40 seconds (not including read and erase, duhhhhhhhhh), 3 seconds per sector for single word (spansion is very fast now too) AUTODETECT OF THE NOR!!!! just click "dump CFI"

Hi, I have a question maybe someone can help me answer. I've recently downgraded two ps3s, both were NANDs with progskeet 1.1 and now I'm interested in downgrading NOR ps3s. From what I understand, with NOR, you don't have to program the progskeet 1.1 with injectus, but would I have to reset the progskeet 1.1 somehow because I've uploaded code to it via injectus (during my NAND downgrades)? Thanks.

I had a slim PS3 with firmware OFW 4.41.

I made:

  • A dump of the nor with ProgSkeet 1.21
  • Verified the dump with Bwe_Nor_Validator. Results: Dump valid.
  • Patched dump with Rogero_Auto_Patcher v0.04
  • Flash the nor with ProgSkeet 1.21.
  • A new dump to compare it with the patched dump. Results: no difference.

Now, at startup, the PS3 asks me to insert a USB disk with firmware 4.41 or higher!!! When I inserted a disk usb I have the error 8002F2CF. Could someone help me? Thanks

ProgSkeet 1.2 Bitstream 2013-03-30 by uf6668 is attached below, which fixes NOR issues with the following changes:

The long awaited fix for Progskeet 1.2 is finally here, uf6667 confirms this should fix the write issues people were getting with 1.2.

  • Dual boot using a switch (led on = secondary nand/nor, led off = primary nand/nor).
  • Supports both solderless nand and nor together. This should fix the write issues people were getting with 1.2.

ProgSkeet 1.2/1.21 BITSTREAM_12_130401_1824 (via forum.dayton360mods.com/showthread.php?947-Progskeet-1-2-1-21-bitstream-Mar-30-2013&p=2850#post2850) is the second progskeet v1.2 fix NOR bitstream.

ProgSkeet 1.2/1.21 BITSTREAM_12_120402_1730 (via forum.dayton360mods.com/showthread.php?947-Progskeet-1-2-1-21-bitstream-Mar-30-2013&p=2850#post2850) is another updated bitstream, again to fix the NOR read / write issues on the 1.2 / 1.21 progskeet.
