135w ago - Previously it was reported that Medal Of Honor PS3 required Firmware 3.42 to run, but below is a video and guide on getting the video game working on PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 with Open Manager version 2.1 posted at PS3SOS.com (linked above) and Elotrolado.net.
Other PS3 titles that previously required PS3 Firmware 3.42 are also being reported as now working using the same method (at least until Sony changes the NPDRM EBOOT keys) as well, including John Daly's Prostroke Golf and Castlevania although it appears Castlevania only requires 3.41 Firmware.
Additionally, wuepe has shared OM versions 2.1 and 2.1A (linked above) for those seeking them.
To quote from maquina07 on EOL: "Well, that I have run the Medal of Honor in 3.41 As to operation. Edit PARAM.SFO of the game so that requested the update 3.41.
Change the eboot of the game, the 2010 UFC. OM install 2.1 and start the patch to install game data on the external. (New Function button is activated to select) Install the update that calls for 1.01 and installed the game data with the V4 Hermes."
Those interested can view some better-translated instructions HERE along with the video of it in action below!

IN STEP 5 when you say Update and install. What do I update and with what? I just got a new ps3 after updating by accident. I sold my updated one and bought a new one with 3.30 and updated it to 3.41. Please help me.
For some reason I get stuck on the update part. Thank you.
Easiest way to install Medal of Honor! NO Eboot bs! Works on External! Just Edit the SFO file to 3.4100
First I'm using Limted Edition US release. I'm also using hermes v4b and gaia 1.0. This works on external easy to install and no need to install everytime!
1. Delete install.pkg - BLUS-30436\PS3_GAME\PKGDIR\PKG00
2. Edit the SFO file - BLUS-30436\PS3_GAME\PARAM.SFO
3. Put it on your Ext Hard drive.
4. Load up Gaia Manager, Select Medal Of Honor, Make sure M patch is on (L1)
5. Update and install
I have followed your guide as I have had no success in getting this working.
But when I start open manager after I have copied it over as per your guide there are two medal of honors 1 internal 1 external which one should I choose and should I have used the L2+start combo to select the folder as even though I have installed the update previously when I start from the disc it still does an update is this correct could you please be a litttle more specific.
guys can i just confirm, when people say install the update pkg is this done via the package installer where you usually install home-brew apps? if so i cant get it to work... if not this where do you install it? cheers
just thought i'd give my bit on this. I struggled to get anything to work for days, then finally got as far as a black screen after xmb until last night. Here's what i have:
Gaia RC9 (also have open manager and orig backup manager installed) and Hermes v4b - has to be b if not the get it!
downloaded game and copied onto external drive, deleted 6gb pkg file and edited .sfo to say 3.4100 - still using original eboot!
plugged the external drive in to ps3 and installed 1.01 update pkg for my region (has to be for your correct region!! pm me for details on where to get it)
opened gaia and pressed L1 to enable mem patch then load MOH - now itr sends you back to the xmb and i click then disc icon to launch the game - thats right completely from the external drive and it runs like a dream, autosaves work fine etc.
ran in to 1 bug so far at secure the warehouse but restart the mission and all worked fine - but thats another issue
hope this helps someone else - like i said i was beginning to think this was all bull but glad i got sorted in the end
