Video: Codename: Rebug Part 2 - Major Rebug PS3 Updates!


172w ago - As promised here is another video of Rebug in action with major breakthroughs, our ongoing project to turn a Retail PS3 console into a full Debug / TEST unit.

As I was uploading this video Cyberskunk had another major breakthrough so I will have a video of that up shortly if I'm not too drunk

We were already able to get the decrypted dev_flash from newer firmware and that's how Cyberskunk got Quick Signup working.

Then GeoHot comes out with a much easier way... but that keeps an exploit in our pocket for later use. I see some of you are already asking about re-enabling the usb exploit in 3.42+ firmwares, we have already thought of that but currently won't be working on that until Rebug is finished.

I saw a video but there is no HDCP option found on this rebug is there any other way to get HDCP option?

This is an issue with mixing debug with retail firmware we are still trying to work that out, but it might never be fixed.

Yeah I had that issue and I actually ended up restoring my ps3 to fix it as the normal methods left some of the debug options on the ps3 even into the 3.55 cfw's. Had some major restart and trophy sync issues because of it but nothing that can't be fixed.

Hi evilsperm, looking forward to next release :

Still one wish/issue for next release:

you have to enable [Settings]>[Network Settings]>[Media Server Connection] every time after reboot, this is annoying since I use PS3 heavily as DLNA client. Could that be changed or is this default Debug-FW behaviour?
