reported that a Sony ban wave was imminent, and today
DJLO over at PSX-Scene reiterated the fact that it's only a matter of time until Sony begins banning PS3 JailBroken consoles.

On boot the system contacts the server and uploads the play list etc. this list alone is enought to get anyone that goes online banned as it shows the bootmanger etc. has been running. All these need to be blocked, web access will still work, updates will still work, but psn and any system messages/ads/communication will be blocked completely. For other areas someone would have to sniff the addresses again to compare. North American Servers are listed.

Almost all connections cannot just be port blocked, the port will continue to increment until it connects, you have to block the entire domains. Also a big point is that ALL computers on your network need to have these blocked not just the PS3's MAC because if you are running a proxy for example to get patches, the computer you proxy to will just allow the connections right out to the open unless all local IPs are blocked from these sites as well."
There are cheats to both Blackops 1 and 2 for Zombies, an you cant go online anyways, as you will be banned pretty d*mn fast

You enter a static address.
If your LAN has IP 192.168.1.x then the static IP address of your PS3 might be 192.168.1.99.
A correct gateway address would here typically be 192.168.1.1, but instead you enter an incorrect one that does not exist on your LAN, like 10.0.0.1
All local access to your LAN, ie 192.168.1.x will be available but internet access will fail.
Why do you think it takes up to 4 years for them to bust someone who uploads pirate material. In order to get their real address and name they must get undeniable evidence that this person is uploading material in order to get said warrant.
What un deniable evidence do they have to say that you are 100% do what you are doing, none they must be inside your house to see it. It is the reason Microsoft never did it and instead banned. Trying proving to the courts that you are circumventing security because your drive takes .024 ms longer to respond that a stock drive.
This is indeed the case if you have just one subnet at home - which of course would be majority of the users - while there are still people using multiply ranges for security reasons or simply to separate different devices etc. And I'd say rather set incorrect Gateway in addition to fake DNS than instead as there is no point to have correct DNS anyway and just in case PS3 will "somehow" still find it's way outside it will at least have no access to the DNS
Yes, unless you completely disconnect the PS3 from accessing the internet, it is possible SONY could track you down via your IP/ISP and prosecute you for bypassing thier security.
BUT... Have they done so for the PSP? Have MS done so for the XBOX 360?
Look, there is no point in getting concerned about what they could do... YOU made the first move in ordering a JB device...
Personally, I hope Sony manage to tighten the security on 3.50+.... BUT.... I hope the scene manage to create an emulation or Virtual Machine that can load higher firmware onto a 3.41 base so that existing JBers can continue to benefit.
