As always, keep in mind these PUP updates will currently NOT install on a retail PS3, and so they are intended for examination and comparison purposes only.
We have 100% confirmed that running this updater on a retail PS3 will not damage it, however, it will give the following error before the installation completes: The data type is not supported. (8002F029)

Finally, in related news below is a PS3 Restore Utility Backup / Restore DEX Console Guide (via ps3ita.it/hack/ripristino-utilita-di-backuprestoresu-console-dex-by-ps3ita/):
After making the conversion of the PS3 console from retail (CEX) in debug (DEX), some may have noticed the lack of utility of backup / restore (accessible from Settings -> System Settings -> Backup Utility) that allowed you to save all content (accounts, photos, music, games, etc. with the exception of trophies) on external media to back recovery in case of failure / change of the internal hard disk.
Therefore PS3ITA, thanks to our mythical Rancid-o, provides a simple method to restore such function by means of easily installable file pkg.
We found a way to restore Backup Utility in DEX:
Just install and start this pkg: http://uploading.com/files/get/5dd48caa/Restore_backup_utility.pkg
There is also a pkg for uninstall: http://uploading.com/files/get/c7ff884f/Uninstall_backup_utility.pkg
This is because if the option backup utility does not uninstall many options are not displayed in "debug settings". Oh I forgot has only been tested on cfw 3.55 DEX.

Nice that its working on 4.21REX, BAD that it doesn't read USB drives. It only sees the games on the internal HDD.
Is there a way to change to USB drive that I'm missing? I can only see games in my internal drive but the USB drive is blinking and doesn't stop. So far is a LOT faster than MultiMan which I like. Just wish there was a way to put more games on the screen at the same time. 4x3 is ok, but 8x4 is better.
To quote, roughly translated: For the uninitiated manager Iris is the only backup manager tool developed with legal (see PSL1GHT). unlike Multiman does not care much for frills, simply does its job well, it starts back up.
Has minimal graphics but its has the speed (do not get lost among a thousand options). It occupies very little space hd (1MB), so you can save valuable space (a popular backup manager uses space as a cache delll'hd and more space to store the cover, but do not believe it makes you burn more than 1GB ..
Another point in favor of this manager is that it is completely open source (Multiman NO!), Anyone can update with new features and adapt to a given cfw. Before today the manager only supported the CFW CEX 3.55, 4.21 and 4.30, but no CFW DEX..
So we decided to make it compatible with our CFW PS3ITA 4.21 DEX. In the future we will to the Italian translation of the manager and who knows maybe even adding some nice feature exclusive..
Ah, the manager is also compatible with CFW 4.21 Rebug mode and CEX and DEX.
Support for PS3ITA CFW 4.21 DEX
Support for Rebug CFW in CEX & DEX mode
v1.45 Changelog (Roughly translated via ps3ita.it/homebrew/iris-manager-v1-40-supporta-anche-il-cfw-ps3ita-4-21-dex/): The previous version of Iris Manager (1.40) and the recently released (1.45) have a bug that makes the most of the games hang Loading on cfw 4.21 dex. All this because of our small mistake in bringing the payload to cfw 4.21 dex. (Sorry for that)
Now, thanks to a starboard Estwald (do saint) we were able to fix everything. You can download the new version from the usual link or at the following address: http://www.ps3ita.it/download/ homebrew / irismanager-4-x-(4.21dex_support)-fixed_dex_payload.pkg

Finally, in related news from KDSBest on PS3 Debug Games: Hi, the following is possible on a REX 4.21.
You first has to swap your kernel to dex, which may get you the error on trophy register error on some games. (REX has to fix this).
1. Decrypt the EBOOT.BIN
2. Use make_fself to create an SELF file
3. Replace your EBOOT.BIN with your EBOOT.SELF (It has to be renamed to EBOOT.BIN).
4. Boot up the game with multiman
5. Use the TM/Debugger of your choice.
Simple as that.
PS: If ps3usercheat in db just changes eboot stuff you can decrypt eboot. apply patch. reencrypt done!
You should be able to apply the ps3usercheat stuff in there on your own now.
