38w ago - Following up on the PS3 DEX Firmware 4.20 updates, I've now gotten all the Sony PS3 Debug / Test Firmware versions not currently in the Downloads section and will upload them as time permits beginning with versions 1.01 and 1.02 below for collectors.

Official Sony Filenames:

As always, keep in mind these PUP updates will currently NOT install on a retail PS3, and so they are intended for examination and comparison purposes only.

We have 100% confirmed that running this updater on a retail PS3 will not damage it, however, it will give the following error before the installation completes: The data type is not supported. (8002F029)

there's no doubt about it that one day it will be hacked. Just like everything else that can't be hacked. It may just take some serious time.

Anything over 3.55 Rebug, Debug or Retail = Game Over!

3.56 and above is never going to be hacked, and never means forever. Sorry but its true.

warning!! when you update to 3.60 on test ps3, you can't downgrade to 3.55- you only can downgrade to 3.56!!

i have a DECHA00A- i think sony have blocked the downgrade from lower then 3.56 with the test unit! i hope i'm wrong.

ps: here in the forum is nowhere a 2.50- only a 2.53?!

what model of debug you have, an old dechc-a/j or a new slim test? i think its a new slim, so my idea doesn't work for you, i had an old phat ps3 test, a dechca, i always had the possibility to downgrad to 1.0 and any other version. do you have downloaded the 2.5 update from this site, try this one.

hope it helps you, would be sad to here that you can't downgrade anymore.
