Showtime Repack v3.1.241 (Unofficial Build) for PS3 is Released


135w ago - PlayStation 3 homebrew developer Redsquirrel87 has updated the PS3 Media Player this weekend to Showtime Repack v3.1.241 with the changes detailed below, as follows:

Showtime Repack v3.1.241 (Unofficial Build) for PS3 Changelog:

  • Fix braindamanged coding. realloc() can actually move memory. yes.
  • Lang: Update Dutch translation
  • Text rendering: If characters spill outside REAL_DIM then extend the texture
  • Video player: Only allow seeking if seeking in file is fast
  • Lang: Update portuguese translation
  • Floating point audio output is broken for AAC+SBR. Avoid that for now
  • PS3-vdec: Don't use the _ex() version of codec query/open. It seems to mess things up
  • Lang: Update german translation
  • PS3: Fix 6.1 audio output (typically DTS-ES)
  • Lang: Update trad. chinese

Yes, I was. I wonder if the Ps3 will ever have naything as good as XBMC was on the original xbox. Those were the days.

If you want to play .mkv files, just download and install the latest divx bundle. After that you'll be able to play .mkv files on your ps3.

Yes, but I don't see how that helps native PS3 playback. I assume you're talking about transcoding.

This is a welcome addition to the homebrew library. Would it be possible to add support for a codecs folder (ala XBMC)? Anyway, thanks andoma!

If you want to play .mkv files, just download and install the latest divx bundle. After that you'll be able to play .mkv files on your ps3.

low res mkv files will work but more optimisation is needed before it's a real alternative to the inbuilt video player. great work in progress though.

mkv works with this... testet by me... but stutterd... but works.
