The PlayStation Download Manager 3.97 has been released with something you've all been wanting

It no longer displays the annoying advert however for anyone copying this, please don't hotlink or post as attachments. Use the provided adf.ly link as this help's fund web hosting and cover the cost of resource's like bandwidth which is costly in the UK (Rural Areas).

The issue with the application not starting has also been resolved, and seemed to be people missing the latest, Java, .NET and IE.
so make sure you've got the latest versions or follow the troubleshooting instructions; this should run better than older versions

1) The advertisement shown on start-up has been removed
2) The premium membership has been discontinued as it serves no purpose any more (It's ad free)
3) Further improvement to the code as the premium account check has been removed
4) Adjustments to the threading to prevent the application from freezing when checking for new versions (Very rare glitch)
5) Definitely working on firmware 3.66 (Older PS Download Managers may not due to changes in the PSN)

Have a good day,

Jordan Dyckes
(Pixolia Solutions LTD)

PS: blazr, you need the latest version from our official site linked above.. and it can install PKG file's without any errors

Hello, I's like some help as I'm not able to get it working right. When I launch PSN DM.exe (3.42 version), the app launches but a second windows appears as an error, and it doesn't look like catching PSN dl...

My PS3 is on 3.42 as well, and I used Logan5's tool proxy. The PS3 test passed well except for UPnP. But it never did

I know there is some sort of connection between, as Logan5's tool detected the new 3.42 update while I was first still in 3.41.

What do you think? (Win7 64)

Hmmm, I can't edit my message anymore... I forgot to say I changed port to 8080 with port.txt in order to match logan5's tool.

Is it possible to use this and the proxy update bypass at the same time?

downloads the files to your computer...?

Yep I've got a bad internet connection, so I just go on the Playstation Store load up all the content I want downloaded and then pause it; take my portable hard drive into College and download it in about 20 minutes while doing some work :S (Naughty, but come on; My internets been down all day, and it's slow when it works.)

Ah, the proxy doesn't support standard web requests as it's built to capture playstation content and will crash if you try the internet browser.

As for the Madden 11 Demo, it is normal for it to say "Please Wait" just back out of the menu and feel free to use the console until the download has finished on the computer; I like being able to play another game while somethings are downloading, unlike the standard ps3 downloader which stops when your in a game.

As for the 12 Minutes to download it, could specify your connection speed and the file size as your segments might not be configured for full speed.

1 and 1/2 minutes to transfer to the PS3 is about normal, and even faster If you connect it to a PC and use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) but it requires 2 ethernet ports. (1Gbps which is about 15 - 20 seconds for a 1 Gigabyte File)

Sorry about not being able to use the Internet Browser on the console when the proxy is enabled, I've developed a skill which allows me to quickly enter network settings and turn the proxy on & off when needed in about 10 seconds.

P.S Should something crash the proxy or are not sure right click on the bar containing the total download rate, and choose "Reboot Server" you shouldn't loose connection to PSN also click just above it in the segments area and you'll get access to options such as a scheduler, maximum segments and min segment size + some more

[EXPERIMENTAL SETTINGS]
Set the Minimum Segment Size = 1024000
Set the Maximum Number of Segments = 4096 (4 Gigabytes, could be more)
Set Retry Delay = 10
Set Max Retries as Infinite = 0

This maxed my line out to the point I couldn't even browse google, it sucked every drop of internet available, but has massive speed spikes and a massive speed drop for about 10 seconds of the download towards the end and then speeds back up again.

250 Megabytes in 6 Minutes 40 Seconds on a 5Mbps connection, which is about right
