112w ago - Today wborland0 has updated his PS3 Game List homebrew application to version 1.4 with a guide, and as always the changes are detailed below.

Download: PS3 Game List v1.4

To quote: Another release adding more features to the base app; I tried to squeeze in as many suggestions as possible, feel free to ask for new ones. If you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

PS3 Game List v1.4 change-log and features:

  • Context menu support (right click on list items to activate);
  • Initial FTP support (download/upload via context menu);
  • Proxy support;
  • Allows mass renaming of game folders (to match game id or game title);
  • Choosing not to overwrite an existing update no longer aborts the download process (the next update in line gets selected);
  • Fixed creation date sorting issue.

PS3 Game List Quick guide (v1.4):

  • “Game folder”: loads the game info stored at the selected folder/directory (currently one-level deep; further revisions will eliminate the issue);
  • “Export”: exports/saves your game list as a text file;
  • “Clear list”: clears all the data loaded;
  • “Save changes”: saves all the changes made to the PARAM.SFO files and folders (double click or press F2 to alter game title, firmware or folder name; check the resolution and audio boxes to alter them);
  • “Rename folders (ID)”: renames all folders to match the game ID (e.g. BCUS98114);
  • “Rename folders (Title)”: renames all folders to match the game title (e.g. “Gran Turismo 5″;
  • “Browse game folder”: opens an explorer.exe window pointing to the selected game folder;
  • “Check for updates”: checks whether the loaded games have updates available;
  • “Download updates”: self-explanatory;
  • “Select all/none”: selects/deselects all updates;
  • “Proxy settings”: opens up the proxy configuration dialog (HTTP/SOCKS 5 supported);
  • “FTP”: the FTP tab allows the user to connect to a server (or a PS3 running one); left click on an item to display the available options. In order to upload a game, connect to a server and navigate to the destination folder. Then, go to the “Game info” tab and left click on the game to display the context menu. Select “Upload (FTP)” to upload the game to the selected folder.

Hey, I'd just like to make a quick suggestion. It seems that Select All only selects the updates you have decided to check and download. Could you change that so I could select all of my titles and check them all for updates rather than each one manually?

If you can already do this I apologize, I can't seem to make it work.

PlayStation 3 homebrew developer wborland0 has updated the popular PlayStation 3 game manager / updater application called PS3 Game List to version 1.9.1 for Windows, Linux and Mac this weekend.

Download: http://www.multiupload.com/E941BKLSYA / http://www.multiupload.com/0PNY3GV4ZM / http://www.multiupload.com/3HOXWFY0A4

To quote: Another small revision with late additions, bringing PS3 Game List to v1.9.1.

The Linux port of PS3 Game List, based upon v1.9.1, is available for download. It implements most of the Windows version features (minus the platform specific functionality). The OpenSSL package is required (download the correspondent version for your release), and so is the Qt lib (the download link includes base files).

The OSX port of PS3 Game List, based upon v1.9.1, is here, featuring the same app updates (minus the platform specific functionality). Mac OS X 10.5 or up is required, so is OpenSSL (OSX ships with a slightly outdated version, but it should work; feel free to update to the latest release, though) and the Qt lib (the download link includes base files).

The Snow Leopard issues seem to be fixed; haven’t tested on Lion, though. Further releases will sort out any eventual misbehavior.

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

PS3 Game List change-log and features:

v1.9.1

• Hovering the mouse over a populated list displays tooltip containing the selected game info and background miniature (configuration via settings dialog);
• Additional tag _FIRMWARE_ for custom rename (e.g. “_TITLE_ – (_ID_)[_FIRMWARE_]” => “Gran Turismo 5 – (BCUS98114)[3.50]“, “[_FIRMWARE_][_ID_][_TITLE_]” => “[3.50][BCUS98114][Gran Turismo 5]“, etc.).

Today wborland0 has updated PS3 Game List Manager / Updater to version 1.9 with the changelog detailed below, as follows:

Download: http://www.multiupload.com/C8C6PHPL2R

To quote: Another PS3 Game List release, bringing it to v1.9. The idea was to improve application usability, based upon the feedback provided by the users.

The Linux and Mac versions are behind schedule; the OSX lib issue is taking longer than I anticipated (and having a virtualized environment doesn’t speed things up either). Hopefully, they will be released soon.

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

PS3 Game List change-log and features:

PlayStation 3 Game List Manager / Updater v1.9:

• Allows users to hide the extra frames (avatar, video resolution and audio) in order to gain horizontal space and better display standard game info;
• Downloaded updates will be prefixed with targeted PS3 system version (e.g. 02.4000_UP9000-BCUS98103_00-UNCHARTEDDF1SCEA-A0110-V0101-PE.pkg);
• Additional language support: Spanish;
• Fixed issue while joinning files from multiple folders.

PS3 Game List Quick Guide v1.9:

• “Game folder”: loads the game info stored at the selected folder/directory (select the folder that holds all data, not the individual game folders);
• “Import list from Excel file”: loads a list of previously saved games from an excel file;
• “Export…”: displays the list exporting options (“Export as text file” – exports/saves your game list as a text file; “Export as Excel file” – exports/saves your game list as a Microsoft Excel file);
• “Clear list”: clears all the data loaded;
• “Save changes”: saves all the changes made to the PARAM.SFO files and folders (double click or press F2 to alter game title, firmware or folder name; check the resolution and audio boxes to alter them);
• “Rename folders…”: displays the folder renaming options (“Rename folders (ID)” – renames all folders to match the game ID (e.g. BCUS98114); “Rename folders (Title)” – renames all folders to match the game title (e.g. “Gran Turismo 5″ ); “Rename folders (ID+Title)”: renames all folders to ID-[Title]; “Rename folders (user defined)”: renames all folders to a format specified by the user using the tags _ID_ and _TITLE_);
• “Replace image…”: displays image replacing options (“Replace avatar” – replaces game avatar with a custom image. The image will be scaled to 320x176; “Replace background image” – replaces background image with a custom image. The image will be scaled to 1920x1080);
• “Browse game folder”: opens an “explorer.exe” window pointing to the selected game folder;
• “Spit/Join…”: splits files over 4GB into fragments for FAT32 compatibility (or joins fragments back together);
• “Disk status”: displays a chart of disk usage;
• “Check for updates”: checks whether the loaded games have updates available;
• “Download updates”: adds all checked updates to the queue and starts/resumes the download process (allowing simultaneous downloads; starting from version 1.9, all downloaded updates will be prefixed with the targeted PS3 system version);
• “Stops downloads”: interrupts the download process; partial downloads can be resumed at a later time;
• “Select all/none”: selects/deselects all updates;
• “Settings”: opens up the application configuration dialog;
• “General (Settings)”: configures game folder depth (up to 10 levels; e.g. “Z:\GAMEZ\Gran Turismo 5\BCUS98114\” instead of “Z:\GAMEZ\BCUS98114\” ), enables loading from multiple game folders, enables the creation of image backup, enables iconic representation of flag items, enables Unicode support for game titles, sets file deletion option for split/merge operation and sets the default download folder);
• “Proxy (Settings)”: proxy configuration (HTTP/SOCKS 5 supported);
• “FTP”: the FTP tab allows the user to connect to a server (or a PS3 running one); right click on an item to display the available options (download, delete, rename or load game information). In order to upload a game, connect to a server and navigate to the destination folder. Then, go to the “Game info” tab and right click on the game to display the context menu. Select “Upload (FTP)” to upload the game to the destination folder.
