PS3 CFW EBOOT / PKG Resigner Homebrew App v1.20 By RaxorX Out

55w ago - Following up on his previous revisions, today PlayStation 3 homebrew developer RazorX has updated the PS3 CFW EBOOT / PKG Resigner to version 1.20 for updating 3.55 and 3.41 CFW game files for use on 4.XX CFW.

Download: PS3 CFW EBOOT / PKG Resigner Homebrew App v1.20 (x86) / PS3 CFW EBOOT / PKG Resigner Homebrew App v1.20 (x64) / CFW Eboot & PKG Resigner v1.21 Test Version.exe (x86 / x64)

Below are the changes, as follows:

Version 1.20 Changelog:

  • made minor alterations to code.
  • now after entering title id it asks for the games title then automatically adds it to the param.sfo.
  • added support for creating a ps2 classic dex ISO.BIN.ENC.

Version 1.21 Changelog: Hey guys here is v1.21 test version i have released which has been tested on windows 8 x86 and x64 also windows vista x64 so hopefully it will work for everyone. also i have changed the logo for one created by brakk3n so let me know what you think i have also altered quite a bit of code for example now instead of keep extracting the files if it detects the folders it wont extract them again. also if a file doesn't exist its gonna use it will unzip it so hopefully this will not only increase the speed but reduce errors. i have also added support for resigning game updates that contain self files but i cannot test it since i'm on 4.30.2 and it would most likely work on it.. especially if its resigning to lower CFW so that will need testing, so let me know if this works for you thanks.

Here is a follow-up from his blog today as well for those following: nwert.wordpress.com/2011/11/29/about-spu-channels-64-72-and-73/

If you are reversing the PS3′s isolated SPU modules, you will eventually notice channels 64, 72 and 73. Here are some C functions, that roughly describe how they work:

About SPU channels 64, 72 and 73

It seems that lv1ldr is storing it’s version into a special storage area.

And e.g. isoldr reads the version from the storage area and compares it to it’s own version. If the check fails, isoldr will just stop execution.

I wonder what else is stored in the area and how long the data in it persists, so my next idea is to code an isolated elf, that allows me to specify the value written to channel 64 and then dumps the data from channel 73.

Yep. WE mortals don't do nothing with this stuff. But i suppose it's an advancement about a free solution...

Oh, some news: And no, I won't release eidtool. If you want the algorithms, you'll have to start reversing

Cool, we can close this chapter too
