  • Showtime 04.03.100 [CEX].pkg
  • Showtime 04.03.100 [DEX].pkg

Also available online and in the WEB column for those who want to test PS2 Classics. What I added to mM is just a simple function to link the iso.bin.enc files to the placeholder app. Whatever it requires is not changed. I don't have any ps2 classics to test anything. mM already has a PS1+PS2 database of almost 4000 covers (already available in the FULL version and online), hence few lines to link the encrypted isos to the placeholders. The haters are barking at the wrong tree.

You need [Register or Login to view links] (PS2_Classics_Placeholder_R2.rar by CaptainCPS-X) installed and your ps2 classics in /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO as subfolders. It is also available for download in mM's WEB column.

If you don't have memory-cards, mM will create them for you under SAVEDATA subfolder in the game folder.

Use the following structure format:

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game (simple naming format - no cover download)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/ISO.BIN.ENC
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/COVER.JPG (not mandatory, but if present will have higher priority than downloaded covers)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC0.VME (mM will create it if missing)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC1.VME (mM will create it if missing)

or even better, the recommended format:

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003 (mM will use the gameID and will download the cover if available)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/ISO.BIN.ENC
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/COVER.JPG (not mandatory, but if present will have higher priority than downloaded cover)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC0.VME (mM will create it if missing)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC1.VME (mM will create it if missing)

Basically you only need the ISO.BIN.ENC and nothing else:

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/MyPS2Classic/ISO.BIN.ENC

and mM will show "MyPS2Classic" disc icon in the RETRO column. If you name your folder with the game-id, mM will download the cover. If you put "COVER.JPG" next to the iso, mM will use it instead. That's it.

Cobra ODE FW 2.2 Beta by magneto is now available with details below, as follows:

We are releasing a beta firmware for the version 2.2 of the Cobra ODE.

You will need to have the 2.1 firmware before applying this update, and we are only releasing the mcu.rom image for v3.x and v4.x boards at this time. We will release the update for v5.x boards once we release the final 2.2 version.

This update will make your Cobra ODE work with the 4.60 firmware for PS3 superslim 4k models, including games that have been updated.

Instructions:

  • Download and run extractps3swapfiles: [Register or Login to view links]
  • Download and run genps3swapdisc: [Register or Login to view links]
  • Burn the swap disc to a BD-R or BD-RE disc.
  • Download and run convertps3iso on each of your ISO files: [Register or Login to view links]
  • Download and install the 2.2 Beta firmware for v3.x and v4.x boards: [Register or Login to view links]
  • Edit the cobra.cfg file and add the following lines:

Test your games. If you have installed an update to a game, this firmware will still allow you to run the game, but you will need to swap the discs twice.

If you have any issues, report back here so we can fix them before release. If it works without any problems, let us know as well.

To everyone complaining about the swap method for older models: The Cobra Team has been working hard to give you a solution in order to keep playing online and keep using the ODE. Online capabilities were never guaranteed, and no one is being forced to buy a BD burner.

If it is too expensive for you, then you can stay on 4.55 and enjoy your ODE, or you can update to 4.60 and enjoy online. If you want to enjoy both, then the Cobra Team has a solution for you, it is your choice whether or not to use that solution.

Remember that online play was never guaranteed and the anti-ODE security measures introduced in 4.60 were added by Sony to protect their intellectual property, it is not Cobra's fault. You may be disappointed, but that is out of our control.

Will there be any reason to update to Firmware 2.2 for 4k system owners on non-4.60 OFW? Are there any additional improvements other than 4.60 compatibility?

Yes, firmware 2.2 adds other improvements such as:

  • Increase USB read speeds by 40% for v5.x boards (now over 16.5MB/s)
  • Better swap disc reliability for some brands of BD-R
  • Fix a bug in PS1 game mounting
  • Add support for automatic region patching of PS1 games
  • Fix PS2 games and BD movies support when manager.on_reboot option is enabled
