172w ago - Here is an updated multiMAN PS3 pack from this morning with freshly compiled latest builds of Genesis+ and SNES by squarepusher2:

Pack contains:

  • GENESIS_(20110531_110900)_multiMAN.pkg
  • SNES90000_(20110531_105800)_multiMAN.pkg
  • multiMAN ver 2.00.03 UPDATE (20110531_154000)
  • Added: Threaded processing in background for downloading covers (no more GUI interruptions)
  • Added: XMMB mode will invoke download of missing covers, too
  • Added: Caching of Retro column
  • Changed: Non-blockable scanning in XMMB when device is connected/disconnected
  • Added: Support for Genesis+ GX retro emulator (by squarepusher2)
  • Added: Support for PNG covers for Retro column (320x180 max resolution)
  • Added: Support for md/MD and zip/ZIP for Genesis+ ROMs
  • Fixed: wrong options/options_default.ini lines for genp_self / genp_roms

Condorstike is preparing a pack of 3D covers in PNG format for the Retro column, so I added support for PNG images (320x180 max).

Nice, top work, thanks again, looking forward to anything else you do with this.

One final thing (for now!), as and when we update, what happens to everything we've already put under the \GAMES\, it doesn't get wiped does it ?

The program will detect these titles and will display them in the menu. If you activate one of them it will automatically rename it and will save the current name, so don't worry - it will work.

OK, so on one of my USB drives I've got the following structure :

F:\AVCHD
F:\AVCHD_TitleX
F:\AVCHD_TitleXX
F:\AVCHD_TitleXXX

etc. When I want to watch something I obviously just remove the underscore and everything after it. Does this now, in essence, do that for me without altering the file structure ? I.e. you know longer need an AVCHD folder at the root of the USB drive ?

#vstace: No, not a concept. Browsing works for both panes. COPY/DELETE/RENAME will be in the next update.

One thing, when you connect a USB device, full of AVCHD folders do they have to be named something specific or does it scan and recognise via another method ?

Also, are the AVCHD folders mountable/playable via the internal HDD (obviously this is the main annoyance with AVCHD - not getting DTS/24p/Subs etc if played off internal)

It will look for INDEX.BDM in your USB devices ROOT+ONE_FOLDER_DEEP paths, no matter what they are named.

No, it is not possible to play AVCHD from the internal disk. Not unless some tweaks are made in XMB xmls and some other files.
