MultiMAN PS3 v02.04.00 Update, Includes Dev_Flash Write Access

138w ago - Following up on his previous updates, today PlayStation 3 developer deank released another update to the PS3 backup manager bringing it to multiMAN version 02.04.00 (20110824-152900) which now allows write access to dev_flash via dev_blind.

Download: multiMAN v02.04.00 Update (20110824-152900) (1.76 MB) / Cinavia Files for 3.55 / Cinavia Files for 3.41

multiMAN v02.04.00 Update (20110824-152900) Changelog:

  • Added: Option in XMMB Settings column: [Write access to /dev_flash via /dev_blind]

It means that you can enable write access to /dev_flash (using /dev_blind mount point) and manipulate its contents via FTP or File Manager mode. I used it to replace the .sprx files to disable Cinavia Protection (works!).

Files must be replaced in /dev_blind/vsh/module/ using either FTP or file manager mode in multiMAN. Actually it is quite easy to create a small standalone installer to do that, I wonder why no one did it.

Very Big thanks goes to deank best ever Homebrew and Loader on PS3 !!! Cover Updates Coming Soon...

Also in related news from aldostools comes a similar script in case someone wants to delete the unnecessary covers from multiMAN's covers folder in your PS3 (/dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers/)

To quote: "With my PS3 FTP Client 2.9 (updated to add script support) the script could work also with the Windows' FTP.exe using the following CMD line:

but you have to edit the script with a text editor (eg. notepad) to specify the proper IP of your PS3 console. The script could work also as a batch (with little or any change), if it is renamed to .cmd or .bat, to delete local files."

Below is Showtime PS3 Media Player for multiMAN 3.99.024.g93fd5.dirty (May 16th, 2012) compiled for multiMAN.

Download: SHOWTIME.SELF Version 3.99.024.g93fd5.dirty (5.12 MB)

From deank: A lot of stuff fixed (except the one that it always forgets to apply the correct setting for subtitle OUTLINE/SHADOW).

You can get it online too.

Installation: Save the downloaded file as: /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/SHOWTIME.SELF

Since version 02.05.00 of multiMAN you can update your SHOWTIME within multiMAN, by going to XMMB Video tab -> Press [TRIANGLE] while "Start Showtime" is selected -> Update.

You can also update your showtime.self by deleting it from multiMAN's USRDIR folder and play a video - you'll be prompted to download the updated version. Be advised that in multiMAN versions 04.00.00+ SHOWTIME.SELF is located under USRDIR/sys folder.

Also below is Showtime PS3 Media Player for multiMAN v3.99.41 from andoma and deank as follows:

Download: Showtime PS3 Media Player for multiMAN v3.99.41 (5 MB)

Changes:

  • Subtitle outline/shadow is properly applied and there is no need to go to settings to re-confirm the values.
