To quote: Overview

MiniSplit is a tool for splitting large PS3 game files (> 4294967295 bytes) into .666## files so you can transfer them to a FAT32 formatted device (e.g. an external hard drive). It can also join .666## files back into their original file. It runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Java Runtime Environment 7 is required for MiniSplit to run.

Usage

1. Run MiniSplit by double clicking on the MiniSplit jar file.
2. Select Split or Join and check/uncheck each checkbox depending on your preferences.
3. Press Search For Files to pick a folder to check recursively for large files if you want to split or .666## files if you want to join.
4. If you checked the Change checkbox, choose a destination folder for your split/joined files.
5. Wait for MiniSplit to finish splitting/joining files.

Features

  • Split large files into 4294967295 byte pieces (the max file size for FAT32).
  • Join .666## files back into their original file.
  • Delete source files after splitting or joining files.
  • Rename game folders by adding an _ to the game folder once large files have been split or removing an _ from the game folder if split files have been joined.
  • Change the destination directory. Useful if you want to keep the split/joined files separate from the source files or if you want to speed up the splitting/joining process by reading the source files from one storage device and writing the resulting files to another storage device.
  • Recreate the folder structure of the source folder inside your chosen destination folder. Only applies when you've checked the Change checkbox. Lets you easily see where the newly split/joined files are supposed to go in the original game folder.
  • Display per file and total progress with progress bars.
  • Split/Join files from multiple game folders at one time.

Note: Do not join .666## files while they are on a FAT32 formatted device.

Todo

  • Comment code.

I forgot to mention I renamed MiniSplit to SimpleSplitPS3 and put the source code on my GitHub a while ago. You can find it linked above if you are interested. Also, you can find the latest compiled version on the releases tab.

There have been some minor changes to the code since MiniSplit v1.0 but they do not affect the behavior of the program. If you already have MiniSplit v1.0 then the only differences you will notice between MiniSplit v1.0 and SimpleSplitPS3 v1.0 are the names and the size of the programs on the screen.

SimpleSplitPS3 v1.1 Changelog:

  • Added support for multiple languages
  • Added ability to select a single file to split
  • Changed progress bar colors from orange to blue
  • Changed the order of some of the radio buttons and checkboxes
  • Changed the wording of some displayed text
  • Recreate checkbox is now disabled when the Change checkbox is unchecked
  • Cleaned up code

I created a small program called PS3 Split File 2011 v1.0 in Delphi to help all users in PlayStation 3. With this program we can now split file a ps3 game larger than 4Gb so can only pass to the internal hard drive by a USB HDD.

PS3 Split File 2011 v1.0 by CgM2k11

To use this program you must copy it to the folder where the file being you want to split into several pieces memores or join in a single file.

DIVIDE / Click the Split button on the next window click Open and select the file you want to share, in type size the size of the pieces in Shape choice 'MB' or 'GB'to split click to share.

ADD / Click the button next window click on the junta to open the file and select Add you want to add click on Add.

All correct: First personal apology for my oversight in time is from -1 to +0, programming error. When the PS3 SplitFile-ends to split the file gets this meneira:

Arquivo.ext.66601
Arquivo.ext.66602
Arquivo.ext.66603

and so on, i did not join the mager open the file so it does not happen you must manually rename to:

Arquivo.ext.66600
Arquivo.ext.66601
Arquivo.ext.66602

and so on.
