Guide to Install multiMAN PS3 Themes via USB from a PKG File

48w ago - Today Italian PlayStation 3 scene site BiteYourConsole has shared a guide on how to install multiMAN PS3 Themes via USB from a PKG file below.

To quote, roughly translated: Here is the program that allows us to download the theme directly in a PKG file and you can install through a pendrive.

Download: pack multiman.rar

The program was inspired by earlier work done on Bite that we allowed them to create the PKG file, the program was modified to allow an upgrade file that goes to save the theme within multiMAN.

Procedure

  • Drag the file.THM in the themes folder.
  • Click on theme.bat and wait the end of the process.
  • Copy the MM4PS3-BLES80608_00-MULTIMANAGER0440.pkg file on a usb stick and install on the PS3.

The program can also be used for the themes of the hcode123 mod and opium2k, but only about MultiMAN.

Finally, multiMAN Theme Control (32 and 64 bits) is an executable multiOptions to facilitate packaging themes for multiMAN.

Download: multiMAN Theme Control (32 bits) (1 MB) / multiMAN Theme Control (64 bits) (1 MB)

Features:

  • Create IQR theme - From folder theme, will reduce 10% Quality on some images and create other theme folder IQR (After if you want, THM and PKG)
  • Create THM theme - It will create .thm from folder theme (After if you want, PKG)
  • Create PKG theme - It will create .pkg from folder theme
  • Create PKG multiThemes - It will create one .pkg from with all THMs in executable directory

This executable uses:

  • mmTM_GUI.exe from aldostools
  • make_package_npdrm.exe from Sony
  • PhotoResize.exe from Vlastimil Miler
  • msvbvm50.dll Visual Basic Virtual Machine
  • and batch code written by brunolee

Following up on my previous release, this weekend I have updated the Solar PS3 homebrew 3D screensaver to version 4.2 with the changes outlined below.

Download: Solar 4.2 Standalone / Solar 4.2 Rogero Edition / Solar_v4.2_CFW4.XX PKG

To quote: Hi guys, Here's another update, Solar v4.2.

Even though I took a little break, I'm back with a new Solar update; added a bunch of stuff this time around, most of them are in the changelog. There's two versions, stand-alone and Rogero Manager's. For Rogero Manager both PKGs need to be installed.

1. Solar.pkg
2. Solar_RELOAD_RM.pkg

After installed it can be launched from XMB or automatically while Rogero Manager idles. Hope you enjoy it, thanks. CAW!

Changelog Solar v4.2:

  • Rebuilt the 3D engine.
  • Added more items to UI interface.
  • Added memory counter.
  • Added FPS (frames per second).
  • Added better light engine.
  • Added a 2 hours counter for system turn off.
  • Added ICON1.PAM (animated icon).
  • Added an intro loading screen.
  • Added Solar system trivia.
  • Added some minor MP3 player tweaks.
  • Created 2 version (stand-alone/multiMAN & Rogero Manager built in "automatic launching").
  • And a lot more stuff, I should write them down as I go... lol

Update: Solar 4.2 for CFW 3.55-4.XX by Condorstrike:

Definitely sad to see ya go condorstrike, and yea I've given up on it about a year ago myself but with summer coming (it's actually 80+ degrees here today) my guess is even if anything new on the free PS3 homebrew scene surfaces most people will be too busy outdoors to care much anyway.

Long gone are the days when most PS3 Devs believed in open source and were not out for profit in the hands of the nefarious Max Louarn / Paul Owen et al regimes. As the popular saying goes now though, it is what it is.

On a brighter note, hope to see ya back for the PS4 scene and take care!
