just easier to have 2 ps3..

1 for jb
1 for psn

simple... well simpler than breaking promises of dual booting etc..

I wonder what would end up happening to stuff like these (NAND/NOR reader/writers) if some sort of software mod came out.

Yeah, if a wired install leaves in dual-boot, and they drop the price a bit I'll probably still be down for one.

So why did they do a new Hardware only for the clip?
Well - most probably because to be able to actually switch the on board memory off and activate the "external" one they need to acces some extra "soldering" points which are not accessible directly by simply clipping on top of the chip. And they might be at the same time looking for another HW solution to allow that but they might not even find one.

Still - if you gonna open your PS3 and broke the warranty you can still solder a couple wires here and there (or most probably not even wires but just solder points from the clip ribbon to a few spots on the PS3 mainboard) - still better than soldering 50+ wires ...

Yes the other ones have been doing this for a while. However the only thing that they did was make easier to install and better for use with the hard drive station. But what I has heard for a owner of a web site that sells the product is that the refund level now for the e3 is high. After saying that the dual boot is gone people are asking in high demand for a refund. I have changed my order from 3 to 1 that I am going to get. Still have to test it and see what I can do with it.

But the demand is down so.. Maybe the price will fall soon. Or they will I hope find a way for the dual boot to work. Thanks
